And I promise, we will feature all of them at season's end.
But I just have to call out Shawn Childs today. I've been watching his LV1 main event team all year long and Shawn has gone from the low 70's to a dominant lead over the course of the season and is now in good shape to win his fourth NFBC league title in six years. He's one of only two owners (Stephen Jupinka is the other) who has three league titles to his name through the first five seasons.
Shawn now has his CC's Desperados fourth overall in the main event after previously finishing as high as 3rd, 3rd and 5th in the overall standings. And best of all, Shawn held a live chat on the NFBC boards earlier this off-season and basically revealed all of his insights on how to build a winning team. So he's been free with his advice and he still keeps on winning.
I think we all know that Shawn is one of the REALLY good guys in the NFBC and most folks won't mind that I'm giving him his due praise. He will be the most upset by my post because the last thing he wants is attention being put on him or anything that could jinx his team. But he really has had a remarkable ride this year in the NFBC – and during the past six seasons here – and I just had to recognize him at this point.
Shawn, good luck the rest of the way and if you do finish in the Top 5 for the fourth time in six seasons you will have accomplished something that every one of us would recognize as something special. Good luck the rest of the year and don't forget to start preparing for those football drafts soon.
