It's hard to feel too bad for Smoltz. In five years, he'll be playing on the tour and writing his acceptance speech for the Hall of Fame.
I only wish that Smoltz and Glavine had the ability to see the future so that they, along with Maddux, could have all gone into the Hall together.
1991 vs. Jack Morris will always come to my mind when thinking about Smoltz. One Helluva game.
While Glavine and Maddux always seemed to be thinking, 'If I put this kind of pitch over this part of the plate, I don't think they'll hit it', Smoltz seemed to be thinking, 'If I have my good stuff, it won't matter what I throw, they can't touch me'

The Mets SP is dreadful and the cost was only $850,00? Seems like a no brainer. If its the Madoff thing, then the Wilpons should sell the damm team and move on.
Doubleday was the better choice when he split with Fred.
