OK Greg, since you asked.
What is draft day like?
Is there quite a bit of razzing, like when an owner unexpectedly takes someone higher than they should?
Do some owners try to distract others by not showering?
Is there going to be any post draft entertainment? Dancing girls?
What percent of owners are women?
Are these the kind of questions you wanted.

1. Draft Day is a lot of fun. I feel confident in saying our participants all had a good time in each of the three cities. I'm sure there is some good-natured ribbing going on but I really think one of the best parts of this event is seeing the drafts unfold. It's a definite highlight and I guarantee you guys will have a great time.
2. I trust all of our owners will display proper hygiene.
3. At this time we do not have any dancing girls scheduled after the draft, but I would definitely be happy to see that come to fruition and that's not for me, but for all of you. Honest.
4. We don't have too many female owners at this time so it's a small percentage. But obviously we would love to expand the playing field and we welcome all of the female fantasy players who may be lurking. Come and join us. You won't be disappointed.

Scott Boras consistently gets top dollar for his players. Shux, he gets teams to outbid themselves (Tigers with Maggs for instance).
Why wouldn't every single player sign up with Boras? I cannot think of a single reason.

I'm actually surprised so many teams deal with the guy given how many GMs can't stand him. You'd think somebody would stand up and just refuse to pay him the (often) ridiculous contracts he ends up getting for his players.
But that's Major League Baseball for ya.

Well, the Cubs just traded away Farnsworth. They must have alot of faith in Dempster and Borowski...

Or Hawkins.
I'm really surprised the Cubs haven't made a run at Urbina. Given all of the problems they had closing games last season I can't see why they would want to enter the season with major question marks surrounding their closer situation. Getting a proven closer would be huge for them.

Tom, I don't understand their moves at all:
1. No Alou
2. No Clement
3. No Mercker
4. No Bako
5. No Sosa
6. No Gurdzy
--Added Hairston, JR., Burnitz, and ???

It's been an interesting off-season to say the least. I think they're going to miss Clement a lot. One thing they could really have is some nice speed if Hairston can stay healthy and given Patterson's SB potential. But that's a big if with Hairston.

Thanks, Tom. I have to give the Cubs a D- for this off-season.

There are certain times when teams sign a player and the fans are utterly opposed. They know it's going to fail. And yet the team (GM, coach, owner) say it's a great signing!
The most obvious in Chicago was when the Bears fell in love with Cordell Stewart. Every single fan knew it was going to fail, and yet the Bears were convinced he was going to lead them to glory.
Now with the Cubs its the signing of Jeromy Burnitz. Just what they needed in the line up, more strikeouts with men on base and less than 2 outs!!! It makes absolutely no sense.

Burnitz hit .244-13-42 away from Coors last season. If those numbers excite the Cubs well ...

Here's an NFBC question:
In the NL/AL only auctions if you buy a player and he is traded to the opposing league before the season starts, do you still get to keep that player and his stats?

Yup, you will still be able to keep that player as long as you want.

Whatever happens with this whole licensing mess isn't anything I have any control over do here are some question actually about the NFBC. I assume that the NFBC will be held and my other leagues are Yahoo & ESPN and I bet they will be around too.
NFBC Question:
1. Will there be a week ZERO for the game held on the Sunday or will it be part of an extended week 1?
2. When will the first FAAB be held - prior to that first Sunday or on that first Sunday?

Instead of expanding every team's bench to 7 slots, what if each team was given a "DL slot" where they could stash one of there guys if he is officially put on DL? This way, you could keep the 6 bench spots and the free agent pool wouldn't be so depleted.

Tom - he also asked about his stats in the AL/NL trade question. I don't do those leagues but I bet you get ZERO stats.

Viper, you still get to keep those stats.

2. When will the first FAAB be held - prior to that first Sunday or on that first Sunday? 1. We're looking into that situation to see how STATS will handle it. Last year with the games overseas that was considered as its own week so it's possible the Sunday game will be considered to be a separate week. We'll check with STATS to see how they have that set up.
2. FAAB bidding will begin on the second Sunday after the NFBC draft. In other words, the draft will be on Saturday and FAAB bidding will begin 8 days later on that Sunday.

there are no stats BEFORE the season starts

Last year anyone who lost Beltran in the AL only auctions were allowed to keep him and his stats going forward with the Astros. I actually acquired him in the NL Only league. So he was actually in both the AL and NL auction leagues after the trade...

I guess Milton Bradley would be a better example. He was traded after the AL auction and before the season started. His stats (going forward for "04) were kept on the AL squad that bought him and on the NL only team that acquired him.
