I understand where you're coming from, Rick...but isn't it a bit funny how the multiple team ownership was kinda pushed through by the big players? Kinda like "no big deal...we can do it up front, or do it under the table."

When you do it under the table...you actually take a chance at crowning your co-partner champion...oooooh the pain of that! :D

The boss"es" kinda never batted an eye...like it was a welcomed "bail out" of the fantasy sports industry.

I wonder...no...I guarantee...if enough people would have spoken up when they had the chance,,,when all of this multiple team ownership was just being uncovered...it would have been ruled illegal.

But alas...the spineless never unite...so it's just another accepted truth now...isn't it?

Weird. Lance,

First sentence about understanding...I don't think you do. They're changes. I don't think you understand change, except that whatever that change is...is not good.

Second sentence- What? Who are these big players and when do they get together to push things through? If it is MB players, aren't YOU a big player?

third sentence- You can actually crown a partner co-champ? None of these dual owned teams will be in the same league. If a partner of mine wins another league I am not a part of...GOOD FOR HIM!

fourth sentence- Like it was a welcomed bailout? They are trying to grow the game and the company. If you're pouring concrete for Mrs. Houston down the street yesterday and she calls back for more next week, you're glad to have her business again. Do you tell her no, because my other customers don't like it when I go to the same house twice?

fifth sentence- A vote- I guarantee if this had been put to a vote, that you would be right, it would have been voted down. We don't have all the facts, you know that, but you still go on and on and on...

sixth sentence- Spineless? Because they're kinda, sorta not making fools of themselves? You intimate that you have some kind of spineless, silent majority following you. That silent, spineless sect is gathering more information before thay decide their own personal agenda.

They're not agreeing with you as much as waiting to see the whole picture.

Seventh sentence- Weird, if you're talking about your post...I finally agree.

Lance, you know I love ya, but you're coming to the gunfight loaded with ammunnition while your gun is at home in the closet.

And worse, you don't even know who to shoot at. ;)
wow glad someone finally had the sacks to say it and took the time to do so. The drunken rants just get old. Lance is one of the most well liked guys here and is probably the only one who could get away with drunken, jumbled up rants that are based upon fear and never substantiated with one bit of fact. Even that is getting old. I want the old Lance back the one who was a lot of fun to have in your league because he was nice, fun to be around, and drafting an injury riddled team with all upside and no foundation or strategy. Lately we are only getting the bad drafter- please come back Lance we miss you.
How the hell can "Jeeper's Creeper's" be the non-PC version of "Jesus Christ!!!" ;)

JESUS CHRIST!!!

Anyway...I'll take these posts to heart and guarantee nothing but that they were taken to heart.

I know there's no excuse, but I do tend to get ripped and rant after a win or loss in football...I pour the first cocktail pre-kickoff...and this post was "late-ish" Sunday night.

Anywho...my draft this year was a thing of beauty...at least the first 10 rounds.

I'm bringing my gun to any further posts...can't get too much of a "drunken idiot" reputation.

Dan and Chesty...settle down...your noses may get brown! :D

Pound Salt!!! :D

***edited to add...my cheeks hurt from laughing so much!

Wow a ton of options for the NFBC player next year. Here's hoping I can find a way to win the $100,000 in the NFFC classic so I can play in all of the events like Mr. Childs.

I just want to say that I still think Joe Blanton is in line for a positive ERA correction based on his improved peripherals.

I have been reading along as all of this moves forward and both appreciate and respect the patience and work put forth by Greg. I prefer to attend the first Saturday Main Event because I like betting on the first round of the NCAA Tournament. So a question comes to mind: Once I register for week one will I be guaranteed that this Main Event won't be cancelled because most seem to prefer to attend the second? I also plan to attend the two Friday $800 auctions. Same here?

Also . . . Will someone PLEASE give me a star! My ego has been damaged. After "donating" to the cause in year one I finally brought home some cash in year two so I'm no longer a lowly rookie!!!

I also plan to attend the two Friday $800 auctions. Same here? Yes, if you sign up early I can guarantee that we will get you in a full league. There is no chance that we cancel this first weekend because it costs the same whether we host anything at the Flamingo or don't do anything. So trust me, we are not only planning on a good first weekend we're committed to spending the minimum food & beverage charge we're going to get hit with!! That's why we're talking about a Thursday night viewing party and more!!

And if we can't get one league that first weekend I will tell you right now that I will sit down AND CRY MY BUTT OFF!! :D But trust me, we're expecting a few leagues there and a full weekend of fun. I know of several NFBC die-hards who are coming that weekend already. You'll see once the signup list gets started.

Same with the auction championship leagues. We'll get a few on Friday and Sunday. Same with the Live Double Play contest. We'll be fine out there. Ryan and I will not be alone, not by any stretch of the imagination!! ;)

I just wanted to put my 2 cents in as well. I strongly dislike the idea of the ME drafting 2 different weekends. I am planning on playing this year regardless but I will use this year to determine if I will return.

Is this something that will only happen this year, to give everyone time to adapt to the new weekend? Or is 2 weekends of drafting the ME going to me the norm going forward? If this is the new format I have a feeling this will be my last year. I really do enjoy the NFBC and saw myself playing as long as it's around but there seems to be a lot of unknown/gray area in this new format. With a price tag of 1300.00 any unknowns are scary for me. Hopefully the new benefits outway the unknowns and my fears will be put to rest over this season but I will be looking strongly at other events for 2011.

Hope you guys reconsider and change the main event all to one weekend.

Greg A; So the complaint is one owner having two chances at the overall grand prize rather than an advantage of drafting once already, right? If we're on the same page with this, let me know. Thanks again for your input.

Likewhat17; Yes, my only complaint is owners who have the money and are able to draft both weekends having 2 shots at winning the most prestigious event in the industry, when I think everyone should only have the ONE shot. I'm not as concerned with them having an advantage by drafting both, its moreso that I think everyone should only have one shot at it.Agree with Likewhat17. Nice job.

Think ChestRockwell has the correct compromise between Owners & Customers to get to 405, but hopefully with single team owners.

ChestRockwell;By this date if we are at this many teams and trending to 405 we will not open it up.Greg, please don't take less % of posts related to the topic as "didn't get as much support". It is a bit painful to surf 28 pages for related content. Hence the repeated same question on the two weekend thing. Please tell me the new site has the ability to have a user tracking poll so you can ask the customer base specific questions like the multiple team problem...and I thought several owners noted they had someone else drafting off of their sheets for additional teams they had puppet master control of....

Hav Fun!

Not to be a tease, but I think we'll be able to announce the Las Vegas hotel by tomorrow at the latest, possibly today. Should be a fun, fun announcement. ;)

Adjusted profile. Male ego still intact, but could use a boost with a star or two. Greg referred to "fun, fun announcement" in his most recent post. Is that a clue for Circus Circus?

I must be getting old. Remembered the Stardust & Flamingo quite easily. Forgot all about the RIO.

Damn, actually enjoyd that place except for the Sportsbook.

If you really are adding an NCAA viewing party, that is going to be one hell of an enticement to come early ........... even if I pass on drafting in the Main till the second week. ;)
