Damn, actually enjoyd that place except for the Sportsbook. You didn't like the sportsbook at the Rio? I always liked that one a lot. Plenty to watch, waitresses dressed nice and they were very attentive. I love the Rio. :D

[/QUOTE]Best sportsbook in Vegas for our needs (right RT!! :D ) was the Stardust. Man, you could make a $2 horse bet and get two free drink coupons that even covered bottles of Corona. I lost more $2 bets there than anywhere around. :D Wow, and it was big and spacious and easy to bet. Just loved it.

And now go to the Stardust and you see an unfinished structure of steel that has no chance of being completed anytime soon. What a shame. Vegas needs more hotels like the old Stardust instead of more high-priced hotels.

Greg:

The STARDUST also had those NCAA t-shirts that included all of the teams that made the tourney for that particular year. I missed that lil perk.

So tell me about Arizona and the Fall League? Some Pig Farmer from Greencreek, Idaho just made me an offer I may not be able to refuse! ;)

Not sure if you are talking about the Shandler symposium or just the games, we can take the First Pitch Forum off-line, but imagine literally having your choice of any seat in the same parks they use in spring training, save for the section the scouts sit in -- and even then if you are cool about and can blend, you can sit close enough to grab the readings off the radar guns and even strike up conversations with some.

Daytime about 90, nighttime about 65. Parks close enough to catch 2 complete games and a bite in between.

We have a saying -- if you don't get a foul ball, you aren't trying hard enough. Ask Shawn.

Then there is the Tempe and sometimes Scottsdale nightlife.

If you really are adding an NCAA viewing party, that is going to be one hell of an enticement to come early ........... even if I pass on drafting in the Main till the second week. ;) Now you're talking Kenny. Let me set your travel schedule for you:

Arrive Wednesday, March 17th in Las Vegas

Thursday, March 18th: Gambling on 16 NFCC first round games with a Thursday night NFBC exclusive Viewing Party for first weekend participants

Friday, March 19th: You can't help yourself and take an NFBC Auction Championship team for $800 and one Live NFBC Double Play team. Gamble on 16 more games.

Saturday, March 20th: If you don't do the main event you gamble on some more NCAA games. Play the ponies heavily. Have a big dinner/lunch/breakfast.

Sunday, March 21st: Gamble some more and see if there's any good private higher-stakes NFBC leagues forming. You never know, a Super League with everyone drafting at the same time could crop up. No multiple teams in that format and everyone is in the same boat, just like this year, right? Could happen and you have some Super League winnings from 2009 to invest, right?

Monday, March 22nd: Head to Arizona for spring training. Stay 4 games and get some scouting in.

Thursday, March 25th: Return for NFBC sun-burned to the hilt!! :D

Friday, March 26th: $1300 NL Auction League at 9 am. Dare you try another Auction Championship at 4???

Saturday, March 27th: The MAIN EVENT at a sweeeeeeeeeet location on The Strip. 150+ folks for sure in town to draft in this special event. It can't get any better than this, not with the eye candy, the aroma of real food, drinks, the best players in the fantasy industry, etc. Wow.

Sunday, March 28th: Ultimate, Diamond, Super Leagues go off and you know you can't help yourself. You need some action here!! :D

Monday, March 29th: Back to work after a late Sunday night flight. Reality sets in: You love the family, but back to work. Still, it was the best 10 day vacation you EVER HAD!!! :D

Some Pig Farmer from Greencreek, Idaho just made me an offer I may not be able to refuse! ;) Yeah, we need to hand Lindy that big NFBC check and get a picture of him, so Arizona works out great for all of us. Join us there and you won't regret it. RT is coming, maybe even Shawn. Tom and I will be there with Ryan, Charlie and the Fanball gang.

Besides the picture-perfect weather is seeing the top six prospects from each organization up close and personal for three days. You see EVERY prospect at least once with two games per day. Plus this year they have a Saturday night All-Star game that likely will include Strasburg pitching. Could be special and something you remember telling Chip about down the road when he's a big star.

It's all baseball for 3-4 days. It's the perfect kickoff to the baseball season.

He says he's off the Kazmir bandwagon, but let's make this as real as possible. If he is sitting there at the end of round ten and Greg is a few Coronas deep, even though his mind doesn't say it his mouth would. Let's go Kazmir for him.

Greg:

Scenario #1 has already been played out in my mind. Arizona for the games in between draft weeks would be sweet, but doubt I could stay on the lam for that long. I may be forced to chose!

TODD ZOLA makes for a great salesman for Arizona. NOW........factor in I'd be close enough to Santa Anita to find my way to the Breeders Cup on November 7th and Mr Hinkelman may indeed have some company watching him accept that big check. I'll be "selling" it this evening!

btw Stasburg's first AFL start is Friday night at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.....likely to be BIG crowd for that one.

There are six or seven 1st round picks from June playing - saw Dustin Ackley get two hits yesterday.

And two top five minor league hitting prospects are here - Jason Heyward, ATL and Mike Stanton, FLA..........plus lots of others

This may go down as one of the best ever group of prospects for the AFL - and that is saying something.

ETA - both the Rising Stars (All Star) game on Saturday evening November 7 (which the seminar attendees will be at) and the AFL Championship Game on Saturday afternoon 10/21 will be shown live on the MLB Network

That's funny, Ken. The reason you can't stay on the lamb that long is because you're an east coast guy. Us people in the mountain west can stay on the lamb a long time.

I think the right word is lam.

Okay, I have approval to announce the Las Vegas hotel today. Give me a few minutes to write up the first announcement and then we'll follow with the best news. I'm on it now.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

The "All able bodied people are needed." makes me laugh out loud as word of the slap war spreads, and volunteers go running to man the giant water hoses to quell the testosterone!
