Here's The Latest NFBC Slow Draft Offerings

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Nov 24, 2009 4:53 am

Okay, we have already filled up one $125 Slow Draft League and have almost half of a $325 Slow Draft League filled. I have created this new signup page, so let's keep the momentum going here.

These were popular last year as it most definitely became a great draft prep for our die-hards. This format is 15 teams, 45 rounds and there are no free agent pickups after Draft Day. What you draft is what you have for the season. You can make weekly lineup changes, but only among the 45 players you drafted.

So this is a good draft preparation and yet it takes little time to manage your roster during the season. Each team has 12 hours per pick, so you don't have to be a slave to your computer. And the chat room becomes a nice social network, if you will, for the participants.

I'll offer these at all different price levels and see where the demand is. All you have to do is put your name on this thread and I'll add you to the list. Once we have a full league, we'll worry about payment and signup links and the rest. Sound good?

The $325 league was popular last year because we allowed the top three finishers to earn a free entry into next year's NFBC main event. Since we are drafting so early and so much can change between now and then, we felt it was smart to equally reward the top three finishers in each league with a nice payout ($1300 in value). We'll do that again at $325 per team. The $250 will give free entries to the top two teams and cash to the third place finisher, while the $125 Slow Draft will pay Top 3. Sound good?

Here's the list of each event and the current signup lists:

Here's another offering I'll make to the NFBC audience. We can do a 30-round NFBC $125 Slow Draft that plays out just like any other NFBC Satellite league during the season. So this offering allows you to make FAAB pickups during the season and run your team just like you normally would in any NFBC Satellite League, but we'll draft 30 rounds in a Slow Draft fashion to get the season started and we'll pay Top 3. Here's the offering and we'll take signups here:
