First NFBC Diamond League Is Sold Out

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Dec 11, 2009 11:27 am

We're happy to unveil our new NFBC Diamond League this year and before I could even discuss the details we're close to a sellout. WOW!! Is that cool or what?

The NFBC Diamond League will be held in a private suite at the Bellagio on Sunday, March 28th at 10 am PT. We will offer one in New York if demand warrants it, but it's obvious that we will sell out at least one of these in Las Vegas. We currently have 10 owners signed up for this league, leaving us with FIVE OPEN SPOTS.

The rules of the NFBC Diamond League are the same as any other NFBC 15-team draft league. The difference is the payout, obviously. We are paying back 93.3% in prizes and we are hosting this in a private suite at the Bellagio. This is going to be very special and the treatment of our participants is going to be special, too. Wait until they tell you about it. ;)

Anyway, I'm going to let the participants finalize our payout for this league. When Ryan first discussed it he felt it was a good idea to pay back 4 spots with prizes. That would leave us with the current payout that is on the NFBC Diamond site:

1st Place: $75,000

2nd Place: $35,000

3rd Place: $20,000

4th Place: $10,000

However, there was talk that by paying four spots it could create too many unique strategies and hurt the league. We're willing to pay out whatever the group wants. So it's at Top 4 now unless a good majority wants it to be a Top 3 payout league. Under that scenario we just go like this:

1st Place: $80,000

2nd Place: $40,000

3rd Place: $20,000

You folks let us know what you want and we'll finalize this shortly. Sound good?

Also, if anyone is signing up for the Diamond League, let me know if you are interested in applying for the Black Diamond VIP package. Since I'm signing up most of you already, I can make it a full package if you'd like. We will reserve extra limos if we have to and it looks like we will have to!! :D But that's a good thing.

Here's the Black Diamond Package that's available to you folks who buy the Diamond + Classic + Double Play + Auction Championship:

** Includes 1 free night at the Bellagio

** Includes free limo ride from the airport to the Bellagio

** Introduction to private Bellagio casino host

** Invitation to NFBC's first Sweet 16 VIP Party

** Exclusive VIP Badge, VIP Entry and concierge service

** No Events Fee or co-manager fees for any of the events

Just say you want that here and I'll take care of the rest.

Okay, here's the current lineup card for the debut NFBC Diamond League:

First NFBC Diamond League Is Sold Out

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Dec 11, 2009 11:31 am

Also, I want to point out that I know we have a lot of events scheduled for the same time on Sunday, March 28th. All of them are set to begin at 10 am PT. I've heard from a few owners who say they'd like to do the Diamond and the Ultimate League that weekend and would rather not have both scheduled at the same time. I'll move the Ultimate or the Super to another time or day if folks want that. I just didn't know what to do right now and will take your suggestions on this.

It's apparent that the Diamond League will sell out and thus we'll keep it at 10 am. We also don't want to push this to get done in a hurry so that we can rush to draft later in the Ultimate or Super. So if we do schedule a later Sunday draft, let's do it with enough time to enjoy the time we have in the Diamond League.

So you folks coming to Las Vegas tell me what you want me to do as far as the times for the Super and the Ultimate League. I'll do whatever you want. But it looks like the Diamond is going to be a hit at 10 am. And if this takes away from any of the other Sunday events like the Auction League, then maybe we can make sure we find good time slots for those too. Just let me know and we'll get it done right. Thanks all.

If offered in New York, will there be a VIP package as well?

Glenn Most definitely, but at this point we need to first find out where we're having the Sunday drafts at in New York. Let us get that done and then we'll see what we can provide.

We now have 11 owners committed to the debut NFBC Diamond League at the Bellagio Las Vegas on Sunday morning, March 28th. In the last 24 hours, we've added Chris Poulson, Scott Fleming and Rob Silver. This is going to be a BLAST and we look forward to filling up this first league. Welcome aboard all.

FOUR SPOTS LEFT for the NFBC Diamond League. What a cool event. I am hopeful that you will have this in 2-3 years in an Auction format in NYC when I can afford it!

Frank Cracolice and I can both vouch for the virtues and attriubtes on the waitress that catered to the DC crowd in the Alladin a couple years back.

Andy Robinson has thrown his hat into the ring for this debut NFBC Diamond League, leaving us with THREE SPOTS LEFT!! SWEEEEEEEEEET!! Let me know via email if you're interested in this league because this one is going to sell out and we are going to have a BLAST in our Bellagio suite running this league. Awesome all.

Thanks Andy. 12 in, three to go. ;)

We're getting closer to selling out this debut event as Nick Cassavetes of Los Angeles has jumped at the chance to play in this league. The son of the famous Hollywood director John Cassavetes and a successful Hollywood director himself, Nick had good success in the NFBC last year and looks forward to this tough competition.

That leaves us with TWO SPOTS LEFT in the NFBC Diamond League. Wow. We might sell this out before the end of the year. Before Christmas!! :D Good stuff. Thanks all.

We are tentatively at 14 right now for the debut Diamond League. If you want to join this league, don't delay. We're nearing a sellout. Thanks all and this should be a BLAST in Las Vegas.

We tentatively have 15 owners signed up for this league at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. David got a hold of me at 9:00 this morning while I was at a youth basketball practice and I couldn't get on the computer right away. But David definitely grabbed this spot.

Let's finalize this list and then we'll finalize the prize payout and the rest. Thanks all.

We're not done taking signups for the Diamond League. I would say that if we can get 15 more among the various cities we'll find a way to get this done. We also have the Ultimate Draft League on Sunday morning if anyone is interested and the Super League on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Should be a lot of fun.

Thanks all. If anyone drops out of this, I know we have folks ready to jump in.

Jim Stanard Jim, you are first on reserve if any of the 15 on the signup list can't make this. Sorry, but David contacted me a little earlier than this post. I'll give you a call on Monday to discuss and make sure we can get you in if this opens up or if a second league gets going. I'll call you soon. Thanks man.
