Is this right?

Post by ESPN8 THE OCHO » Mon Jan 04, 2010 2:34 am

I am reading that the main event will be drafted on dates as of March 20th and March 26th. Is this correct? While it will not stop me from playing, it seems that it may be a bit unfair.

Perhaps a player drafted high on the 20th and gets hurt on the 22nd, advantage drafters on the 26th. Perhaps a player that was drafted in the 25th round on the 20th makes the team as a starter the 22nd and he goes in the 16th round of the 26th draft. Advantage the 20th.

With such a big contest I liked all teams being drafted at the same time with the same amount of facts in place.

Just a question though, am I reading this right?

Just a question though, am I reading this right? I think a player on the second weekend will have more information, but you have the option to draft either weekend. I think there are +/- to both weekends. If you choose the first weekend, you know your risks. Do the advantages outweigh the risks? I think this is for every player to decide for themselves.

there are two weekends of drafting this year, in five cities. there is also a HUGE thread pertaining to this year's changes with the drafts. i suggest you find that thread and peruse it. a lot of your questions will be answered.

just a suggestion

Thanks for the feedback. I will look for that thread.

Again it is not a big deal to me... however I will be drafting that 2nd weekend.

Keep in mind that last year, Alex Rodriguez was a BIG mystery on draft weekend. One week later, he was coming back well before he was expected to.

So in a nutshell, those who would of drafted him a week earlier would of got him at somewhat of a discount.

Basic logic says "draft later, have more knowledge". However there will be cases where someone drafting the first weekend may get an "injured mystery player" at a discount.

Should be fun! :D

OCHO-8, Why not draft on both weekends?

That way you can repair any mistakes from the first draft!

Actually the advantage goes to the people who can afford to draft BOTH weekends. No way around it! Two chances at the overall, plus two chances to move up in the NFBC "rankings".
