ok, so while my wife is off at a class here in the hospital, it came to me. A new auction idea:
Take KJ's Real life salary concept and marry it to a auction format. You would pay $10/M in salary for the total 2010 (or 2009) if 2010 not available for your total team, with a minimum entry of like $250.

This year, they are offering you a new Auction Championship format with a National Champion. They have made the cost less than the standard $1300 leagues by slapping a very reasonable $800 price tag.
It is important to them(NFBC)and to those of us that enjoy the Auction format for this to succeed. They have made it clear they NEED 150 teams for this to get off the ground. If it doesn't, it may go away forever.
So I ask, WHY would you insist on pushing a seperate Auction League to compete with this new opportunity? Clearly, the nfbc can make this grow to something bigger down the road. For that to happen, keep your eye on the new product and stop trying to water down the few players that would welcome a shot at being a National Champ instead of simply being a league champ. I'm not knocking your idea, but trying to have you realize what is at hand.
If they strike there goal of 150, there will be plenty of time in March to ADD spinoff Auction leagues for the true diehards. They are halfway home - help them reach that 150. In the long run, those of us that enjoy the Auctions will be the true winners.

Sack, Chill out! KJ's league last year was a private draft. It didn't affect the NFBC drafts at all. I'm sure if someone came up with this auction it would be the same thing. Believe it or not, not everyone likes the standard mix auction.
Thats why Greg offered the AL and NL also. Alot of those players wouldn't do the mix league anyway. You need to preach to the non auction players to signup. The current auction players already know what they like.

No sweat, maybe a few of those non-auctions guys will read this thread. Didn't appear to me that those AL/NL leagues were being made a priority this season. Why do you think that was? Bravo for the diehards that had there league specific requests granted. Now lets get 75 more bodies for the National Championship.
See you in Vegas on the 26th for our auction, unless you switch leagues again.
