What is your typical approach to closers in the main? Get 2 studs, one stud and a middling option or go for 3 guys? Will this year be any different as it seems there are fewer camp battles than in recent years?

this year, i will plan a simialr approach. i don't like using one early pick on closers, let alone TWO!?!?!?

What's your feelings on factoring in position scarcity during the early rounds of a draft?

What round do you see yourself picking your first pitcher?

How many of your first 10 rounds can you see being pitchers? relief pitchers?

Early rounds....safe picks or roll the dice on upside?

Auction strategy....stars & scrubs? punt a category? all value picks or do you have a couple players you target that you'd spend "whatever it takes" for?

Is Pujols worth $50 this year. I can keep him at that price in a draft.

Thanks i imagine i'll be in 7-8 45 round no faab slow drafts. zero local leagues. 2 main events. 1 $1,300 auction. and i thin that's it.

am i the favorite? not sure, i'd have to see the final signup list. i might as well mention that if you had stopped bidding on milledge last year and "stuck" me with him for $17, the winner may have been different!! i owe you guys a couple beers!
7-8 slow drafts? Do you feel these drafts are good prep for the Main considering you get some exotic strategies that you wouldn't see in the main? Do you do that many for ADP purposes? Right now I have two Slow drafts and another draft under my belt....trying to decide if I want to do another.

No 12-teamers?

Would you consider doing the $1300 auction at 10AM?

there's no way around it, owners INFLATE the values of 1B. if you want to own a good one, u will need to play along and take on before they should be drafted.

as for other positions, in previous years i put a slight edge on middle infielders, but when i did that last year i selected alexei ramirez in the 2nd round.

i think i'm just going to go with the most valuale player their regardless of the position. an auction is a different beast though.

that i won't know for sure until the draft unfolds. going into it, i'll probably budget for 3-4 pitchers, no more, no less.

mixture. anyone who goes all safe or all "roll the dice" is probably in trouble.

yep, 7 or 8...maybe more before the season starts. i like the slow drats for a couple reasons...

1. the payback % is better than the live events or "championship" formats"

2. it's a low investment. $125 for a shot at $1,000.

3. i can't stess this enough. if you haven't done a real draft or two before you walk into the main event, you are putting yourself at a real disadvantage IMO. doing these slow drafts allows me to see my mistakes from earlier slow draft (and yes, i've made many mistakes already). why pay $1,300 for the main event and have that be your first or second actual team you drafted for real money. you will make mistakes and your main event team will suffer.

4. i'm not concerned about exotic strategies. i want to "get a feel" for drafting, where players are going, be faced with decisions where i have time to think, etc...in the main event you have 1 minute to think. better hope you have your process down pat!

i was a huge mccutchen fan last year. got him everywhere i could. i'll stick with him. i don't think he'll hit more than 12 hr, but his speed, runs, and BA should be good.

now if i said "YES", then his adp just moved up a round! seriously, there are a few pitchers that i think have the possibility to do so. Kershaw is on that list. not a question of if, we are only debating when. it's either this year or next year. how lucky do u feel?

Using the same this year or next year breakout formula.....is this Billingsly's year to put it all together?
McCutcheon looked great to me when I saw him going in the 6th round....

Now he's starting to be picked regularly in the 5th, sometimes 4th rounds....is he starting to lose his potential upside being picked that early?
