ADP - THIRD Round

Post by Gekko » Sat Feb 06, 2010 7:31 am

31 Kevin Youkilis (3B)

32 Pablo Sandoval (1B)

33 Brian Roberts

34 Ryan Zimmerman

35 Ichiro Suzuki

36 CC Sabathia

37 Jayson Werth

38 Felix Hernandez

39 Justin Morneau

40 Brian McCann

41 Robinson Cano

42 Jason Bay

43 Zack Greinke

44 Adam Lind

45 Derek Jeter

Like:

Greinke at 43 looks like good value. Could be top two pitcher in baseball this season, but is being drafted as the 5th SP. Getting value out of an ace is tough to do. This is one of those times.

Dislike:

I can't put Morneau on the buy list until I see him playing effectively in spring training. I try to take a cautious approach when it comes to using ealry picks on player who had season-ending injury.

Jeter shouldnt be going in the third roundDo you really think he will steal over 30 again. In 2008 Jeter stole 11 bases and 15 in 2007 and is 36.Last year Jeter was a nice 6th round pick and this year he is going to high.Cano also shouldnt be going middle of the 3rd round.

I haven't seen or been in a draft yet where Sandoval has gone ahead of Zimmerman.

Eddie I'm sure in 2 or 3 out of 10 drafts, the Panda goes first. I'm also sure though, when the paid sat lgs adp list comes out, Zimmerman will be higher up.

According to the four paid January drafts I have access to, MDC adp for 5x5 and nfbc, I am correct. 6 out of 6. I suppose every other draft it could have gone the other way, but that seems pretty unlikely.

I have been in four slow drafts so far this year.

In each one, Sandoval has gone BEFORE Zimmerman.

Is it just me or are people paying for last years stats based on this 3rd Rd ADP?

Hopefully it stays like that come draft time.
Last year there were at least 6 that failed to live up to their draft position:

31. Aramis Ramirez

32. Nick Markakis

34. Alex Rios

39. Alexei Ramirez

44. Carlos Quentin

45. Nate McLouth

Do you think there will be 6 or more from the original posting that underperform?
5 sounds about right. Then again, that's roughly the number of 3rd rounders that underperform every year.

I wonder if we have the same list...

CC Sabathia seems about due for one of his patented April oblique strains ;)
