I have noticed a number of players here belong to something called Leaderboard Sports. Can you tell me what it is and how many Leaderboard Sports members won their leagues in NFBC last year? Thanks guys!

Leaderboard Sports is a communist attempt to overthrow our capitalist fantasy sports world. Much like the Borg of Star Trek TNG, they use their collective intelligence to defeat the fantasy masses. Their motto: "Assimilate, or die."

As is evident from his signature, Dave "Dyv" Cushard was one of the Leaderboard Sports league winners in the 2004 NFBC. He may be the only one, or there might have been countless others. Only the Borg, I mean, Leaderboard Sports members can truly say for sure.

Leaderboard Sports is in a group in an unofficial contest on ESPN. Ten separate groups of 50-100 about players put in teams into various ESPN leagues with a point structure based on roto points or H2H wins. For the first several years LBS was the top dog. It isn't clear anymore if that is true.

On Feb 14, there were about 12 Leaderboard Sports people in the NFBC - most drafting in vegas. I was asked last fall and joined another of the ESPN Uber groups (The Rat Pack) and we have only two in the NFBC.

If that's true then all I have to say is that whichever one of the members looks like Jeri Ryan she sure as hell better be coming to Chicago. :D

Leaderboard Sports is a group of about 100 of the top fantasy gamers at ESPN (we still are Viper by a mile) put together by Dyv and interactive through an email forum where we exchange about 3,000 emails a month mostly fantasy related. We are currently in the process of launching our own fantasy sports website on which I'm sure Dyv will share more info as the launch date approaches.

As far as last year I know of at least 3 league titles, a couple seconds, a couple thirds, and second overall in the WCOFB after winning that event the previous year. I'm not sure of the exact number that will be drafting this year but we use the NFBC as a sort of annual reunion and there will be 20 some of us in Vegas including Dyv, Meatloaf, and myself. We may not win anything this year but we'll all be prepared and we have done this before. :D

Too many of us in Las Vegas banging heads against each other I guess. That's the only way I can explain it. That or all the Jaeger Bombs the night before at the party. :D

Dave Cushard won New York 5 (mixed league between NY and LV) and Clark Olson won Las Vegas 5. They were the two LBS league winners. I may be wrong, but between the auctions and the main event last year we had almost 20 Leaderboard signups. I'm pretty sure we're over 30 this year counting the Ultimate Leagues as some of these guys are in four events, including Meat Loaf and Dyv.

I'm not sure where they rank in the fantasy listings for talent, but I will say this is the most rabid group of fantasy baseball players that I know of. These guys play in 30, 40 and even 50 baseball leagues a year, Meat included. You might find more passionate fantasy football players in the country, but collectively I doubt there's a more passionate group for baseball than this.

Dyv and Ken Bayes must be working too hard not to respond to a thread like this! :D

I'm not 100% sure who is or is not in the NFBC from our group at this point - I'm sure even if I had the intel handy that it's not important to share all that vital data ;)

I can only reference my fantasy resume and say I feel like I can be competitive in almost any fantasy sport. My best fantasy sport is hockey, but I won't embarass myself too much in baseball or football. Nobody wins all the time and rather than get in a pissing contest with everyone else I'll just claim to be competitive and leave you all to decide if you agree.

[/QUOTE]Eric Price will also be in NY, not sure if he's teaming with Nick Cassevettes this year again or not. Eric, Nick and Nick's father famous director John Cassevette's used to participate in their own hand calculated early version of fantasy baseball back in the late 60's long before the Rotissere restaurant gang invented the current version. Too bad they didn't patent it, maybe MLB would be paying them a license fee.
