I guess for me since my first fantasy baseball league was an NFBC league three years ago I have become accustomed to the 15-team format and enjoy it.

I'm still doing one 12-teamer this year just for a chance at $60,000 but that team will not be my main focus on faab sundays thats for sure.

Oh by the way I feel much better today. Thanks for the get well wishes.

with that said, last year was my most successful fantasy baseball season from a prize winnings standpoint.

for this year:

1. we are not having a baby

2. i cut down on my weekly manage teams (from 6 to 3)

for all of you out there, good luck trying to stop me (you're going to need it)

AND THEN HE TURNED IT AROUND.

those numbers were and still are horrible. if you think they are good, i think Joel Hanrahan would look good on your team
Ahhh...selective amenesia. You quote the numbers, but not the prediction. I think it is funny...the "Hanson is a bum" and forecasting a dire future off a small sample. Face it. Your projections are just that. Projections. No better and no worse than anyone else's at any particular time. We all hit and we all miss.

Good luck Mark because as always and as with all of us, you are going to need it. And remember, when blowing your own horn, expect a few cracked notes from time to time.

And yes, Hanrahan is on my radar, but I am just not sure where he will land yet. :D
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

no, no, no. my projections were fine on hanson. again, much better than BP. but when i posted a prediction on a small sample size and blowing off steam, that's where it looks bad.

plus i was hoping hanson owners would drop him (and allow me to swoop in)
Weak is definitely not a term I'd use for you.

I hope we're in at least one league together Mark, I'd enjoy the challenge (decent shot with the multiple mains).

Good luck with the rest of your prep and see you in less than five weeks.

Gekko,

You are the reason people visit the message board. If we didnt have the brazen, cocky persona, we would be left with good guys only. What is the movie without a villain? Keep it up...please. Whether you are right or wrong on your opinions (my guess no more or less then any of the experts) they are never short of entertaining.

GG,

Yes you have my name right. I appreciate the honesty on the auction questions. It's going to be interesting with the new Auction championship this year seeing how many different strategies are out there, it will be fun to evaluate the top teams and see how they acquired their team. probably the league with the most inexperienced AUCTION players will produce the most top 10 overall teams.

i'm doing the $1,300 mixed auction (which is part of the 15K overall championship), however there are more sharks in that league than the typical $800 auction league.
Gekko. Good set of posts. Who do you fear the most in this years $1300 league?

my advice: watch the movie "Glengarry Glen Ross"....Alec Baldwin has a message for guys like you.

I just don't like my villains to offer up such WEAK excuses. dude - the buck DOES stop with me. i didn't do as good as i liked. stop reading here if you like and go on your merry way.

NOW IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT A LEADING CAUSE OF MY FAILURE, it was a lack of available time to properly manage my rosters.

and if you think that is weak, not sure what to tell you. TIME is the #1 ingredient to putting yourself in a position to win in high stakes fantasy baseball (not that you would know )

if you don't have enough time, you shouldn't play because you will likely get run over. win a couple of high stakes leagues and then you can make an informed post. not the crap you are spewing now.

but in the end, try as you like, there is only one Gekko playbook and i have the only copy.
