We've been working on getting the main things working, so we haven't really put much thought into announcing every name.
Once again, if that's something our folks would like, I'll present it to the tech team. [/QUOTE]This gets my vote for a nice additional feature.

Dan - were you part of that Auction? We didnt realize how much we were up against it that day. ( and it took all day ) The future 2 time defending NL Tout Wars kingpin put on quite the show for us.
Now, for bonus points - what player was called when SHELLS echoed his now infamous line about his sheets?

There are times I'd like to meet the human train wreck just out of curiosity, then I think to the bbs comments re: Cooperstown.
If not mistaken, Greg Maddux was player in question

as far as drafts, what if every owner had ONE chance to add 1 minute to their time limit when they are "on the clock"? can't find your cheatsheets, can't decide which player to take, can't open your magazine quick enough to research a player, don't worry. one 1 minute time extentsion during a 30 round draft.

Hey Geoff,
The one feature that I would like to see is the ability to turn on "auto select" for a round (or two) and having it turn-off after your pick in a certain round. The reason that many owners don't go on auto is the fear that the draft will run through 3 or more rounds while they are gone. This would eliminate the problem and speed up slow drafts quite a bit.
Thanks,
Eric

I'm looking forward to the unveiling. On a side note, I am unable to view any of my completed slow drafts. I seem to remember that rosters were made available and don't want to hold off this inquiry until we enter the home stretch leading up to the ME.

Scott Martin Scott,
All rosters are available under "My Completed Drafts" at MDC.
We're working on loading the slow drafts into the Fanball software, but there are a few things beyond our control -- dealing mostly with Placeholders and guys in the lower-depth of the minors -- that we need to be resolved before we can get the correct 45-man rosters into the system.
Rest assured, we haven't forgotten about these.

Thanks for the response. Making these available shouldn't be a priority.

Just an update that we are still testing this software and we are still working out some bugs. This week we ran the two pay satellite leagues on MDC.com and we'll announce our plans for next week's satellite leagues very shortly.
While we are eager to get all of you set up on a free mock NFBC site to get your practice runs in, we realize that we can't unveil a product which still needs a few more screws tightened. Our staff ran a test run today and we'll likely do another one tomorrow. The guys are doing a great job of getting everything done and we'll update our default lists shortly with our own generated ADPs.
I wish we could have unveiled this earlier this week, but we're still working on all of this and will have another update tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. We know it has to be fine-tuned for this group or we know what will follow......

I work in the software development field and I second Greg's remark that they'd rather wait a little bit and get it right than rush it out the door with mistakes. Furthermore, when rushed, the first thing a software lead or manager will do is start to peel back features just to make the deadline. That's the last thing we want. We want as many features as possible.
Unless MDC is planning to stonewall us, I'm curious why the emphasis is on the draft software and not the league management, lineup setting, and faab pages. Personally they are more important to me than the draft software. But maybe that part is already done, plus it technically doesn't need to be ready until April, so I get the timing I guess.
If possible, put slow draft #17 on the new software and I'll promise to send you guys 10 QA tickets a day until it's ready for primetime. A slow draft is meant to be slow anyway.

NFBC members can then mock fulltime if they'd like and send suggestions to a direct email. You will be our best beta testers for this software in a couple of days.
No need to put a pay league on there to help us test this software. We'll get all of you to do that soon enough.

None of that is being short-changed while we fine-tune the draft software. We have a lot of people working on this project right now in St. Louis and all of this is being addressed. We'll need to test that part shortly as well, but from what I've heard things are progressing well with FAAB.

Thanks for the enthusiasm in these endevours. It is very appreciated and respected.

Okay, I know it seems like we've delayed the launch of our draft room long enough and some folks may be getting frustrated, but we definitely wanted to iron out everything before making this available for mock drafts. We had a great mock today with our Fanball staffers and everything is looking great. I think we're on pace to get this out to you folks shortly.
There are some really nice features on our site that you're going to like a lot. I'll explain them once you have a chance to see the site. Stay tuned but this looks really good and I think you'll be mocking soon.
