2/25 Satellite (14th pick)

Post by pancho11 » Sat Feb 27, 2010 4:42 am

C Wieters Buck

1b Miggy

2b Howie

ss Furcal

3b Evan

MI Theriot

CI Chris Davis

OF Upton Cruz Kubel Gardner Willingham ( JD Drew, Laporta )

Util (Envarnacion,Drew,Laporta, Lugo)

SP = Johan Nolasco Wandy Cueto Duchscherer Maine Vandenhurk Perez Niese

RP -- Capps Soriano Kuo

I really like the balance of my offense -- could see a possible struggle at BA but everything else projects strong. Definitely went for upside and team is on teh young side which i like with the exception of furcal

SP Depth an issue but i really like the front 3 and hope one of cueto and duke can have a big year

Very AVG RP but i think soriano can have a decent year

Ok go ahead now tear my team apart

Miggy & Longo to start, from the 14th hole, is very nice. I haven't seen that start before...wish I was in that draft!

I love when folks post their teams, so thanks for posting. Anyway you can post your team from their draft slots? Makes it easier to comment.

And yeah i didnt project myself to have either available let alone both --- certainly had to change on the fly -- may have taken BJ early but he was the most projectable speed left on the board with a possible power upside

i was also in that draft . could you belive the guy that went 7 out of 9 pitchers . in the first 9 rds . wow it made everyone else's pitching that much more even . hope he is in everyone of my drafts . he made a great blocker . don't you think ?

Yea, going to that much of an extreme is going to give more teams a shot at those 14 points in each category, while he is most likely dead in the hitting categories.

I'm with you Jules....love seeing people post their teams! :D

As for your team Pancho, you are probably pretty much close to your assessment.

Your batting avg will be very low, but other hitting categories should be competitive.

Your pitching looks OK with 3 great starters and possibly Cueto. After that, I'm personally not a fan of the rest of the backend pitching.

Soriano is great (as long as he is healthy), but Capps could be a risk. You could be scrambling for saves and both of these guys aren't going to help your WHIP or ERA numbers a great deal.

Jaguar, aren't you new to the NFBC also? If so, then the same stereotype should hold true to you (fresh fish).

I don't think it matters about being "new". You can be new and well prepared or be a veteran and be unprepared. In this case I would chalk it up as someone who was unprepared.

mockdraft central can be difficult to use the first time. Definately takes one full draft under your belt to figure it all out.

You can't see it too good, but the title says "When I feel froggie I'm gonna hop!
Nice team Paul - You did very well - closers could be a problem at some point but this team should stay in the hunt.
yep, mid-tier closers went off the board quicker than I anticipated. I'm not real happy with what I did there either. Wanted to back up Gonzalez with Johnson but wasn't able to get him.

I was in the 2/25 draft; that one team with the 7/9 pitching start; man, unreal;

Hasn't happened in the 6 drafts I have already done (not once did either fall out of the 1st round, let alone past pick 12). I love the idea of starting your team off with a stud 1B AND 3B. What are the chances I get that combo in Main? Anyone? Bueller?

Sorry I can't take your special challenge, I'll be in Austin that weekend working.

Miggy has made it to #14 6 times, and Longoria has made it to #17 twice. With a late pick, I would put your chances at approximately 1-in-20.

to bad red ,it would be nice to have as tough a league as i can get together . i did not put this challenge down to make anyone mad. just get as many top guys in a draft. for as everyone knows the better the players in your league the better you become from it .maybe next time good luck this year red .
