Post by TOXIC ASSETS » Mon Mar 01, 2010 10:44 pm

I'm in two slow drafts. Shown below are my first 10 picks for each. Want opinions on which team got the better start and therefore has the better chance to cash. Or maybe you guys think both teams suck. Bring it on.

Team A

CC Sabathia

Roy Halladay

Carlos Lee

Manny Ramirez

Raul Ibanez

Derek Lee

Max Scherzer

Brian Wilson

Rafael Soriano

Vladimir Guerrero

Team B

Miguel Cabrera

Jason Bay

Felix Hernandez

Shane Victorino

Cliff Lee

Hunter Pence

Raul Ibanez

Jorge Cantu

Huston Street

Jered Weaver

Team A or Team B - first 10 picks

Team B is the team i would rather have its seem's to have a lot more balance.Team A doesnt have a first pick so reaching for Sabbathia or Halladay isnt what i would do and Team A has no speed.Im also not a big Manny fan and with his age and horrible 2nd half has me concerned.Carlos Lee doesn't score enough runs anymore because of one of the worst offense in baseball and El Caboyo doesn't run anymore. Team B is for me Team A stay away.

I think Team B has the best pitcher of the two even though you took two in the first two rounds or Team A. You seem to like players that used to be great and are on the down side of their careers.

Team B not even remotely close. Team A is way too caught up in some guys with big names who will disappoint. Hopefully it was a mock or a low money league and team A can make some adjustments. Just my opinion!

B as well, but I do not like having 4 OF spots filled at all, with no middle infielders.

You may catch some breaks and have some decent 2B and SS land in your lap during the next 10 picks, but it is more likely there will be some picks where you look at the board, see the best player available is an OF and have to pass based on other position needs. You still need to address catching, saves and SP4/SP5. You are going to have to pass on a quality/best player available OF multiple times in the next 10 picks to address position and category needs.

I agree here too. Team B is light years better but is still flawed. I think a most likely bottom 3 finish for team A and a middle of the pack for team b.

Jered Weaver Team A has old players in the OF as well as an old DH; Team B with definitely the more upside...

Team A or Team B - first 10 picks

It will be interesting to see which team does better. I actually feel better about team A. The first two picks should give me a good start to a high finish in W, ERA , WHIP and K's. Carlos Lee will hit .300 for sure, so will Manny despite his age. Derek Lee and Ibanez are solid vets playing in hitters parks. Scherzer is the real wild card, I need him to come through as my # 3. The closers are solid. Guerrero...hits .300 in his sleep. I'm punting steals in this league so lack of speed isn't a concern.

On team B, Bay is a ? moving to Shea and to a worse team. Felix Hernandez is young, and you never know about a young hurler. Hunter Pence, no sure thing. Cantu - only 16 HR last season, power has been up and down in his career. Victorino, no power. I see more questions here.

Both teams could be good or bad this season, that's why we play the game...

Felix is a young pitcher and we don't know about young hurlers?

He is entering his 6th MLB season; his 5th as a Full Time starter...he is young in regards to chronological age but he is a seasoned veteran in baseball years...

Team B, but keep in mind, the league isn't won with the first 10 picks - it's won with the next 20.

I don't think you have great starts, but even if you did, it would still be rounds 11-30 that win a league.

Good luck!
