Please move the clock. Right where the ad is would be great.

Doesn't seem to be widescreen friendly ... gotta scroll up and down. And even in a 4x3 format, still gotta scroll. Can't resize fonts etc ... boo hiss ... not everyone has perfect vision. The listing of your team at the right could be darker/bolder.

Seemed slow to load and had to say no to a warning about a script causing things to run slowly (Firefox user).

How about a color band to highlight your own team's picks in the summary listing?

And what about being able to drag and drop a player to another eligible position? Lots of peeps are gonna be asking for vmart to be moved.

BUT, on the whole, very nice. The mechanics work very well. Nicely done.

How about queue column parallel with roster column....I want to see more queue.

The sound effects are lame. The spine ripping "Now It's Your Turn!" always got my attention, even if I was out of the room.

I'm otherwise pleased with what I've seen...no issues.

Could be bigger. Font's are to small. Hard to see.

Just did a draft and it ran smoothly. The clock has to be moved and please get rid of that stupid magazine ad! It is insulting to have it in there. I know its a bizzness but gezz. You already got over a grand from most of us. We know you sell magazines, we get it. Put the clock in its place.

Not to nit pick, but maybe font was a tad small.

Otherwise, looking good.

This is probably not a big thing but....

I did a draft last night and when I went to view the draft this morning and look at it from Grid View; my ream which drafted 13th was listed at #4 and it wasn't the team I drafted; when I looked at the number 13 slot it had my 1st pick and 3rd rd pick but it was not the team I drafted; Don't know what to think of that....

If I type names in the search box, neither Nathan nor Billingsley come up in the list. Probably others as well. And no, they aren't already drafted. They are sitting there on the main list, but when you type in 'nat' for example, Nathan is not on the new list.

Add Billingsley, Wandy, and Ubaldo to that list. And after they don't appear and I clear the search text, the list reverts to "ALL" but there are no pitchers on it. Hitting "ALL" again does nothing. I have to choose a hitting position, list it, and then choose ALL.

So ... you can't search for a pitcher by name.

[/QUOTE]Why do they move Victor Martinez to first when nobody will play him there. Then when im finally filling out my roster instead of moving Martinez to catcher they move other guys to bench. It can confuse you late in the draftwhen guys are in wrong positions.I also agree you need to be able to moveplayers to the right positions.I also couldnt find how to move players from A to Z somebody in the draft said go to something colume but couldnt find that.Mock Draft seemed bigger ,maybe i need more practice.

...to continue with my thoughts on the new mock software.

If I am preforming some research by say looking at the OF's by SB's the players list will jump back to the beginning every time somebody drafts. Which forces me to find my place again on the list.

Very frustrating!

Also why does the name list sort the players by first name? I would even consider reversing to last name first. "Rice, Jim"

I have uncovered some issues when setting up my draft rankings list. The search feature is inconsistent. Sometimes it will find a player; other times it won't. I am usually able to get around this by clicking on the team column to sort the players by team. No matter what I try, I can not find Chris Young the outfielder. Chris Young the pitcher, yes. But not the outfielder.

Don't know if this has come up already, but when I load my randings they are totaly incorrect. Heck, Denard Span is now my number 1 player.

A Review

After not being able to draft on site, because it wouldn't let me in at 3pm yesterday, I tried another one at 6pm.

It let me join in, first obstacle cleared.

The look disappointed me. The teams go across the top and are cut off at seven and 1/2 teams. Going down the side with all 15 teams viewable should be the goal.

The ad has to go. Sorry, But the magazine season is over. The clock should be in its place since we have to scroll up and down to see the darn thing.

Instead of having 10 columns across for each player's stats, only five are needed. Combine AVG for hitters and ERA for pitchers, etc, making this only five columns wide. This would allow more room for what is going on with the other teams.

Ut, as a position for players is not needed, we know every hitter is available as a utility player. More room again.

I did not see a draft grid, there may be one, but I did not see it.

I made some rankings of the top 30 players the day before the draft, but they did not show up for the draft. I was forced to use Fanballs rankings.

There are no sounds when someone makes a selection. There should be a soft'buzz' to alert us. This becomes very important when we're looking at notes and know that our pick is coming up shortly.

Like the changes in Las Vegas casino's, automated sounds signalling a win, from the actual coins hitting metal coming from slot machines, the sound when it is our turn, is a big nothing.

We all look forward to our turn, when it is, we get a little echoing beep, c'mon! We're excited that it is our turn, make it exciting for us!

Here's a suggestion, when our turn comes, the sound of bat meeting ball. When our selection is made, the crowd cheers.

There have been dozens of other flaws noted.

All in all, it was not a great drafting experience. There is a lot of work to be done on a lot of different issues.

We'll see how good the tekkies at Fanball are after the lists in this thread. I hope they are fast.

Some of the positives were the stats themselves, they have a good "look" to them.

The chat box was located well.

The clock was easily readable.

And speaking of the clock, another suggestion would for us to hear the clock count down the last 10 seconds with a ticking sound. This would alert players looking at notes that time is almost expired.

Overall, without the fixes, I wasn't very comfortable drafting here. Others will make there own decisions, before drafting in big money satelites.

For sure, test the site before attempting to have a 'real' draft. It is very different from what folks are accustomed to. After some necessary fixes are made, mock again. And keep mocking until completely comfortable.

This also is #1 on my list. If it isn't changed I won't be doing any online drafts.

What I would really love to see are two columns, side-by-side, showing the last two rounds snaking up and down. When a new round begins, the previous round slides left and the second- previous round gets pushed off the page.

One addition that would help slow drafts is to have a clock that allows you to show all 12 hours. Not a huge issue but it would be nice.

Overall I think the draft site is currently adequate and will be vastly improved of the coming weeks and months. Not a bad first effort. Once all of the suggestions are implemented the NFBC will have a top notch mock draft site.

I'm not sure this is ready for use by real leagues however.

I just completed a mock and while overall it ran smoothly I agree with DOUGHBOYS on just about every one of his recommended upgrades.

My biggest concern is the inability to move a player to a new position after he is drafted.

I drafted a 1B/OF eligible player originaly as an OF. Later I wanted to move him to 1B but could not. Then at the end of the draft I was prevented from drafting a player because the application indicated it was a roster violation, when really I had players with multiple position eligibility and the pick-up was legal.

In the draft selection boxes, I don't think we need to see "Round 5, Pick 7" in every box with every pick.

A simple "5.07", preferably in a larger font, is more than sufficient.

Keep the suggestions coming, guys....

The moving multi-eligible players thing is being worked on, but know that the commissioner will have the power to make the changes in satellites.

For Victor Martinez and others ... you can select the position that you want to use him at when you draft him. When it is your turn, simply click on the player name, and in the box that pops up (the one with the photo, stats and latest news) you'll see a drop down box that lists all of the positions that he can go to. Find your desired position, then click the "Draft" button.

I just created a draft. And found that drafts can only start at the top of the hour. Seriously, I can't start the draft at a time of my choosing, like 10:30???

I hope the fanball tech guys work weekends, unlike those 9-to-5-er's at STATS.
