I'm looking at the USA Today Mixed Draft League that will also be unveiled in the special fantasy baseball issue, two weeks from now. It's a bit surprising, but interesting. We have yet to have a pay league with Albert Pujols NOT going first overall, but he went second in this league. Lawr Michaels of Mastersball.com and an NFBC competitor this year, took:

1. Hanley Ramirez

2. Albert Pujols

3. Ryan Braun

4. Alex Rodriguez

5. Matt Kemp

6. Chase Utley

7. Miguel Cabrera

8. Tim Lincecum

9. Mark Teixeira

10. Evan Longoria

11. Prince Fielder

12. Kevin Youkilis

Thoughts? Invite team 12 to come to Chicago.

What do you expect of Delmon Young? I expect he will eat his way out of the league someday!

I'm not sure, but I do expect him to improve from last year. Even his brother has had some success in the majors. I think Delmon has more talent, but as you know he swings at everything that moves. Vlad can have success with that approach, but Delmon has yet to show he is a top talent. Does a hot week to end September gives us enough rope to hang ourselves? Or was that a flash of his future?

You have him on the do not draft list. I have him I'll draft him at the right price list. In the AL only auction, it was about $13 of risk. In the main event, I'll have to wait and see my options before slipping the noose on!

19. Ryan Howard

20. Roy Halladay

21. Ichiro Suzuki

22. Matt Holliday

23. Jimmy Rollins

24. Pablo Sandoval

Thoughts? This league is a joke
Was Clark Moberly a part of this draft and organization?
With a comment like that, it might be a smart move to be in St. Louis and Chicago!
Of course, I say it in jest, but Eddie has a great point.

Shawn, I just got this week's Sports Illustrated and our AL catcher, Matt Wieters, is on the cover!! Yikes, this isn't going to be an SI cover jinx year for our catcher, is it?

Man, they are praising him as the next great catcher. I sure hope so, but I hate to see him on the cover. Please, no SI cover jinx for Wieters this year!! :D

I know you're too busy watching American Idol to know this, so I thought you should know. :D (P.S., a little tidbit I learned about Mr. Childs is that he likes his American Idol show!!! :D )
Like several others this year and years' past, Delmon has shown up to spring training much lighter this year. His weight loss actually started because he got sick over the winter - hey, whatever works.

Who wins American Idol, Shawn? Crystal Bowersox gets my vote.

Greg is like the people who hire the High Plains Drifter in the Clint Eastwood movie. Fearing one danger they hire one far worse! In rides Shawn.

She's solid, but I don't see her winning it in the end. I'll take DeWyze.DeWyze is my runner up but I could see him winning it too. Hard for me to see anyone other than one of those 2 winning it all this yr.
Crystal and the quirky one Siobhan are my top 2. DeWyze too generic.
