Wednesday, March 24th $500 Double Play Is Sold Out
Okay, I know it's called the Live Double Play, but we want to give as many people as possible the chance to play this great concept. Therefore, we are opening this double grand prize concept to online users and looking to fill four leagues via online.
Here's the concept:
You can now draft online for the Live Double Play with five available draft dates:
Friday, March 19th at 5:00 ET (same time as live drafts)
Sunday, March 21st at 1:00 ET (same time as live drafts)
Monday, March 22nd at 7:00 ET
Wednesday, March 24th at 9:00 ET
Sunday, March 28th at 9:00 ET
The reason for doing this is simple:
1. We have several owners who are drafting in the Main Event Online who just can't make it to the live events but still want to participate in the Combined Standings prizes ($5,000 for first, $9,500 in prizes overall) with the additional $25,000 grand prize. This allows them the chance to now win $100,000 in the main event, $75,000 for winning both overall titles, $60,000 in the Online and $25,000 in the Live Double Play.
2. It looks like we should hit 21 full leagues live and we could push for more after that, but those would likely be city-hookups. We think this is the best way to still reach our goals and not make every other Live Double Play a hookup. In fact, if we have no city phone hookups we'll be happy.
3. And finally, we just had a lot of folks who love the Online Double Play concept but would love a shot at the second piece of that grand prize and they just couldn't get to a live event at the required times for this draft. Now we can accommodate them. We've created five different times to see if we can get into a league that they want.
We are taking signups now and will try for one league at each time, with possibly the early ones hooking up with Atlantic City. We'll see about that, but we want to be sure those go off as planned. Signup now at:
Games: Live Double Play
Venue: Online
Times: Pick your draft date.
Cost is $525 as there is the same Events Fee as the live drafts. Ask questions at [email protected] if you'd like and hopefully we can fill this baby up. Thanks all.

Wouldn't that be 60 spots since you have 5 dates listed?

Okay, I'm not sure this is exactly the news you all wanted, but we already have one official signup for the $500 Double Play. It's Shawn Childs in the March 21st Double Play. I'll add him to the signup list tomorrow. Thanks Shawn and good luck everyone in this expanded format.

I'm not sure if we had a mixup on the signup page in Las Vegas or not for Sunday, March 21st, but we're getting some guys who want to do it out there and obviously we can offer a live version of the Double Play in LV. Shawn and Dave Potts want to do it. We have six owners in AC looking for a match, so yeah, I'll definitely find space to do this if we can get it done. I've put you guys down for the online version now, but let's see about making this live in LV if we can.
Anyway, good start to this and I know more are coming:
ONLINE
Sunday, March 21st, 1 pm ET
1. Shawn Childs, Forestdale, Massachusetts
2. Dave Potts, Auburn, Alabama
3. Joe Berg, Fullerton, California
Sunday, March 28th, 9 pm ET
1. Albert Leach, Shillington, Pennsylvania

Greg, i'm a little confused. I thought the Live Double Play was supposed to be something unique, the key part being "Live" for the opportunity to win an added prize. I do not think it is right to now open it up to online entries. It does not make it a "Live" Double Play anymore. In addition, i'm sure that people that made arrangements and committed to draft live would have liked the opportunity to enter a "Live" event as well on line. Just my humble opinion.

If you can't do Sunday and can only do Friday, let me know at [email protected] and we'll see if the online signups will allow us to complete one full league with AC drafters. Thanks for your patience.

Are these going anywhere? If they are not going to fill up, I'll probably move the $500 I paid for the Live DP in AC that is getting cancelled to an online DP next week.

Wednesday, March 24th $500 Double Play Is Sold Out
I have taken off the March 19th and 21st online options for this because we did not need them to fill up the Live Double Plays. I will take off the 22nd option tomorrow as well. That leaves us with the Sunday, March 28th 9 pm ET option and I think I'll add one for Thursday, March 25th since it looks like some folks want to do the $500 Double Play before the live main events. Look for that option tomorrow on the Registration page. Thanks all.
