Joe Nathan (elbow) said he'll play catch Saturday and give his right elbow a "vigorous test" to determine if he needs Tommy John surgery.

If he is deemed "okay", his adp the second weekend will move up 100 spots at a minimum. Do ya feel lucky?

In my Sack/Luny draft he went in round 30; not a bad gamble...

29th-30th round is a great gamble since you cut those guys a week into the season anyways. If I drafted today I would take him at that point. It all will come down to how bad the injury is. He will pitch if it's a small tear. Saito did alright for a half season doing that a few years back. How much do you value 10-20 saves? I see Nathan about the same value as a handcuff closer. But one that you know you will get something out of or need to cut right away.

Nathan isn't the biggest gamble the first weekend. At best, he'll be picked in a twenty something round. Not much of a gamble.

Jose Reyes could have a lot of breaking news, good or bad, between the two drafts. And we're talking anywhere from 3rd to 7th round in picking him the first weekend, depending how risk-averse some leagues are. With more information, the adp the second weekend should have less range.

A lot of folks want stability with their top 10 picks, Reyes is as far away from that as it gets.

Nathan isn't pitching in 2010. Unless it's for a slo-pitch team. Rauch has the right of first refusal.

Reyes is the biggest gamble and have seen him go 5th round in one draft and 8th round in my draft.I might regret passing on him but played it safe.

Assuming Reyes in on the insurance list - which it seems he has to be (since he's still being drafted well within the top 100) - this will have a definite impact on his ADP.

I'm betting the insurance folks have some kind of loophole about players starting the season on the dl.

If someone is trying to predict who will be dl'ed for 60 days instead of simply putting the player they could least afford to lose up for insurance, too much thought is being paid to it.

The insurance people didn't have to pay one claim during football. A lot of thought on insurance is wasted time.

Brian Roberts is turning into a big gamble. A former 3rd to 5th rounder went in the 12th round of a 15 team draft with a lot of good players tonight. Tremendous value play there!

[/QUOTE]This wasn't limited to the NFFC. This company did not have to pay on any one player from any league.
