date of first free agent pick-ups??
When is the first opportunity to pick-up a free agent? Especially for the leagues that have already drafted, will the first free agent pick-ups happen before the MLB season begins?
date of first free agent pick-ups??
No one has responded to my question but this morning I found some info in the rules section that is listed at the bottom of my post.
If we draft after March 28 no free agent bidding until April 11. Also, the rules state that if we draft on or before March 28 the bidding process starts just prior to Opening Day. But the rules state that the first free agent pick-ups will be April 4th at 8 PM EST which is not prior to Opening Day.
So, I am just wanting to get some clarification on the rules. For drafts before March 29, one place in the rules it says we can pick-up free agents prior to Opening Day and in another place it gives the first free agent pick-ups a deadline of just after the first game begins.
(FROM THE RULES SECTION)
Bidding Time Frame: For leagues that draft on or before March 28, the bidding process starts just prior to Opening Day For leagues that draft on March 29, through April 3, the bidding process starts after Opening Day For leagues that draft on or before Sunday, March 28, the first free agent bidding deadline is Sunday, April 4, at 8 PM ET. For leagues that draft on Monday, March 29, through Saturday, April 3, the first free agent bidding deadline is Sunday, April 11, at 8 PM ET. The last free agent bidding deadline is Sunday, September 26, at 8 PM ET.

I will look at this closer and make sure the wording is correct everywhere. The Live Drafts have first FAAB on Sunday, April 4th, both weekends of live drafts. The satellites before March 30th have the same FAAB deadline. I believe we felt satellites held during that week and the Online Championship would have their first FAAB deadline of April 11th to avoid last minute rushes to see which free agents are available. I'll verify all of this shortly.
