Quit hijacking my thread... start a boxing thread somewhere else.

Thanks,

C'mon Dyv...even you know that's just the evolution of a dead thread.

If it was still breathing...it wouldn't have been highjacked...and if it wasn't breathing...which it wasn't...it would have already been dead and buried.

Relax.

Oh, alright - let's talk about boxing then. Screw this thread anyway ;)

Seriously, has anyone stopped to consider that on "The Contender" the only one who is NOT a boxer is Stallone?

The one kid put so much of his hopes in life in this contest that after he lost he committed suicide and left behind a family. Of course they didn't cancel the show. Instead they're using it for buzzz.

there were more issues involved than just the contender that resulted sadly in Najai Turpin taking his own life.

I know many people that knew him, and its a tragedy any way you look at it.

As for the Contender being a disaster, think again.

What show could possibly do well against the dynasty of American Idol...none...that was the promo night....Sunday will be its regular time slot....starting tomorrow with show #3....and it goes up against a good show ...Extreme Makeover Home Edition.....but to think this show will die on an obscure cable channel is laughable....

The finale in Vegas will be in May and will be a big hit!!!!

A lot of minds will be changed about the sport, as the shady promoters of the past our slowly losing talent (fighters), getting too old for the business, or lack the business smarts to compete with those with even a little business acumen.

It is changing, and the buy low, sell high theory is why now is the right time....as those who don't understand the business see boxing at a low, and those in the game see this as a world sport (tons of europeans, south americans are flocking to the us for the lure of the tv fights they can't get at home) only to thrive in the next 3 years or so....plenty of upside...
