There will be no good solution?
Everyone should be mentally prepared for whatever the outcome is, because there will be NO good solution to this. No matter what, some people are going to get screwed.
This is just one example out of probably 2000 examples out there. In an early satellite with FAAB, I bid $269 on Franklin Morales. I was not awarded him last night because he was my 2nd set of bids. I probably will win him, but will have NO CHANCE to put him in my lineup this week. I could miss out on one of his 6 weeks closing and maybe 2-3 saves. Would I have bid $269 knowing this? Nope. Could this league come down to 2-3 saves? Yep.
Is the solution to allow me to put Morales in after lineups set and the games are played today? It seems fair to me, but not to everyone else in the league.
So, I'm just preparing to get ambushed with some BAD results for me and some of my teams. That's about all I can do at this point, other than try to enjoy some baseball today.
EDIT - we are getting there. Thanks for fixing my lineups!

I'm at the same point, Jack.
If a miracle doesen't happen, I am guessing we will revert to our drafted teams for the first four days. Such is life.
But, hey, it's still Opening Day.

Very well said. I am in the same boat (as are so many others)
I am going to enjoy baseball all day regardless and try not to worry about my 5 nfbc teams.

I think the best solution is for fanball to get the free agent crap worked out, award teams with the highest bids the players, and then allow all of the stats from week 1 to run and make a lineup submission next Sunday and allow teams to play the best stats for the week. This would mean yes setting lineups after the fact, in fact after an entire week of stats, but would at least allow everyone to enjoy whatever stats they so choose from their team.

Assume that everything will be run correctly RE: FAAB by end of day today.
Open up lineup submission for week 1 (Tuesday-Thursday) after FA have been re-awarded. (Send everyone an email to let them know).

I don't see anything wrong with sending an email before gametime saying if you won Morales place him in your lineup for so and so...who would have a problem with this. Everybody is in the same boat, as long as the game didn't start and you dictate who you want starting there shouldn't be an issue.

Happy to know the IT folks at fanball were able to keep their jobs during the downturn of the economy.

Scroll down to my posting and you will see what many of us have known, fanball has sucked for years. I've never heard a single person throw accolades in their direction, only insults.

Everyone who is complaining to no end must either:
1 have no life outside of fantasy baseball whatsoever
2 have led a very sheltered life where everything they have accomplished came very easily or
3. just like to bitch and complain to hear themselves talk.
if greg says he will get it done, trust me he will. has he ever let any of you down before? Only one game has been played and Im sure by the end of the dauy everything will be fine!!

I guess a need a beter explanation of the rules, because my understanding of the process is that you wouldn't win Morales. I assumed all "First bids" would be run first, so if someone else bid on Morales in the First Bid (as a primary, not conditional), then they would win Morales even if the winning bid was $2. Your $269 bid doesn't matter because he is gone already.

The problem is that not everyone is in the same boat. Some people may actually be on boats with no internet access and unable to adjust anything before gametime. Some people might have looked at their FA wins and don't even know that there is a problem. Some of these times will have a player yanked from them after the FAAB is corrected. when will they even find out? What if that player is in their line-up? There is no way this can end well for everyone.

I think they should allow lineup changes after they run the correct FAAB, if they can get their system to allow it. I don't have any FAAB's this week, so I don't care, but I think that's the fair thing to do. Not perfect, but best under the circumstances.
