The Main Functions that do not work or are not complete

Just in case it was not previously mentioned in one post, here is a list of the functions that I found in just a few minutes that are either missing, or are not working properly:



Rosters: Set Lineup: Can only read my roster from 4/9/10-4/11/10. I cannot see any other team's active roster in the league.

Stats: Team Stats: Only YTD seems to work for me and there are errors in calculating innings (Tenths for each .1 rather than Thirds)

Standings: Not working at all.

League: No remaining bid amounts for any owners.

No league message board.

Transactions: No access to history.



Please add to the list, so we can keep track of what still needs to be done to get this site fully functional.

On Set Starting lineup page it does not show %owned and % started..

This is very important, and not just to see your own remaining amount, but all remaining amounts on one page.

1. League Home Page: All the stuff nodoby uses should be replaced with Standings, Message Board, Player News and a Player Tracker.



2. Develop an email option so that 1) FAAB results are emailed upon completion every Sunday night, and 2) Daily Stats are emailed for each league. Obviously this should be an optional feature.



3. A lot of the links are not functional on the League Home page. For example, on our team name looks like it is a hyperlink (and should go to our rsoter) but if you click on it nothing happens.



4. FAAB - remaining budgets for each team should be listed on the Free Agent drop down listing.



5. Free agents default to the Catcher listing. This should default to eith Hitters or Pitchers.



6. The free agents page takes 15 seconds to load each time the postional search is changed. This is WAY too long if you have several teams.



7. No standings whatsoever.



8. Live scoring either is not functional or was not last night.



9. Under Roster >> Probable Starters - this is not currently functional (looks like it defaults to week 3 and there is no way to change it).



10. We can't see the next few days schedule. It has already jumped forward to Fri - Sunday.

I would add:



1) We cannot see what players were dropped by their respective teams during the FAAB process.



2) Transaction history does not work



3) Within the FAAB player pull down menu we need CI and MI listed. Right now it's based on specific position or hitters/pitchers.

We all know that there is enough Negative Nellie stuff on these Boards. The balancing act between being negative and trying to help things for a better NFBC is tough. Here is my attempt...



I feel like we don't really have a team page per se, but rather a fanball.com page.

Not much is personalized for us. From the top down we are met with the URGENT MESSAGE and COMMISIONERS MESSAGE.The standings should be the center of attention. Instead, the center of the page is an Owners Edge/ NFBC ad with a video box beside it. I've never played the video's and feel it would be better served being on the NFBC's home page and not on my league page. Then we have LEAGUE NEWS which consists of an ad for Double Plays. Then PLAYER NEWS, which I guess is in case we don't want to play the video's. Besides a small box to the right that says LEAGUE MESSAGE BOARD and a big box at the bottom that for some reason has our draft order, there is nothing that pertains to our own league.

Believe me, I know there are some problems and that this probably isn't a high priority, but, to tell the truth, I don't enjoy going there. I get the feeling it is Fanball's team page, and not mine.



This probably comes off as a whine. Sorry, if it does. In the past, getting up every morning and looking at the league page was something to look forward to. I miss that.

I agree.



This is my first year in NFBC, most of my experience is with yahoo.



Actually, I kind of get lost once I enter the home page. The standings should be front and center, not ads. League board is useful, don't mind the commish notes, draft order is useless.



Best to not use too much graphics and logos.

Re: Live Scoring.



It would be great if the ranks were not backwards. it shows a 1 in a category rather than 15 points for the category so it is really weird to see number across that dont add up to the total.



Also, in live scoring, will we be able to see the live totals within each category? That was a great feature where you could see where a win or save put you currently overall in a category for the year. You could look overall and by category. That would be great.

I did post this morning that John said they would try to replicate a similar look of a team page that we had in the past. That hopefully will appear soon after the league standings are posted. I agree, I loved the league standings to the left, league message board in the middle and now even better player notes down the right rail. We can work together on this look, but I thought John's team said this would change shortly.

Greg, you post important stuff. The problem is that it gets burried among other posts and people have to read 25 threads, some with multiple pages, to get important stuff. Can't you have some place to post this stuff as announcements in a thread that people cannot comment into.

[UPDATE} I see your announcement post. This is what was needed last week !!





Yes, I'm still a upset that my March 24th league had FAAB based on a page 6 of 15 post by you. I actually had other things to do than read all those posts. I never expected something that critical to be all but hidden. I was also a bit shocked that starting MLB players were not available last Sunday [Blake DeWitt] while players sent down well over a week earlier {Drew Storen} were available.

Please add to the list, so we can keep track of what still needs to be done to get this site fully functional. Many of these functions are still not working properly or are incomplete. It is especially frustrating that the STATS are still WRONG!

I don't know if this function is hidden somewhere or just not there.



We need a watch list or ability to track free agents. Since they made the terrible decision to have the player pages just point to the fanball player pages I'm guessing this is something they didn't build in.

Another note on Standings. On the old site, we were able to see the standings from week to week, as well as overall standings.



It does not look like cumulative (week by week) functions have been created yet for the Standings and Roster.



In addition, for the rosters, we should be able to see each team's roster, which has not yet been created.



Yesterday, a small message board was added to the right hand side of the League Home Page

Just wondering but I do agree on the overall.

I don't care what my league page looks like.

I don't care about the current standings, they will be corrected. Overall standings not important at this date. League message board, not many use it anyway.

What is important to me. Players that were deemed good enough to be drafted and were released in week one for one reason or another. Owners with multiple leagues begin working on FAAB early in the week. I have no idea who was released by my opponents in week 1. To me this is a priority. Was it a top prospect, an injured player, who. I don't want to scroll through the free agent pages to find Desmond Jennings or Matt Joyce.



The main page can wait.

On the transactions page on our leagues, when we have picked up a free agent and drop someone during the faab process. Is there going to be a feature like last year to see what team drop who to pick up a particular player. Right now all you see is who that the team picked up for free agency that week.

I totally agree. Transaction History HAS to be done ASAP. I have asked for this data and we MUST get this to you. I agree with Dan on how important this is for research each week. We need Winning Bids for every league, Cuts for every league. On the team pages and on the message boards for all to see. I agree and we will get this, hopefully soon.

I realize this is minor in the current scheme of things, but every time I put in order my NFBC teams on my team page, they get mixed up again the next day. It never stays.



Can this be placed on the list of things to fix, please? Thx.

After the Waiver History is fixed, hopefully the other issues will be addressed:



Roster: Viewing multiple weeks and viewing other teams active rosters (we can view the roster grid, but not the matchups).



Standings: Viewing multiple weeks (as on the prior website). Also batting average should be consistent with 4 decimal places (it looks sloppy for one team at .250 and another team at .2499)

Obviously, the overall standings should be fully functioning.



Stats: Cannot view stats from yesterday



League page: there has been plenty of requests for a re-design to make it more useful and viewer friendly.

We still have a long long way to go to make this software even close to what we had last year. I mentioned some of these earlier but I think it would be worthwhile to keep a list of all of the requested modifications. All of the following were available on the former website run by STATS.



1. League Home Page: Place Standings, Message Board, Player News at the top. Remove the rest. Add a Player Tracker.



2. Develop an email option so that 1) FAAB results are emailed upon completion every Sunday night, and 2) Daily Stats are emailed for each league. Obviously this should be an optional feature.



3. FAAB - Add some way to see remaining budgets for each team. Show all dropped players for each bid period.



5. Free agents - make this default to all pitchers or hitters instead of catchers. Increase the load speed.



6. Standings - Make overall standings functional. Show a history of standings for each week.



7. Under Roster >> Probable Starters - this is not currently functional (looks like it defaults to week 3 and there is no way to change it).



8. We can't see the next few days schedule. It has already jumped forward to Fri - Sunday.



9. Clean up the scoring page. There are misspellings and the categories do not fall in logical order.





The release of this software was about as pethetic as it gets. It appears that absolutely no testing was completed, which is inexcusable. I cannot fathom putting together something with so many problems in my business. I'd be fired immediately. It really shows what type of leadership exists at Fanball. And the timing of the problems are awful considering a large competitor launched a baseball game this year. I appreciate the level of service from Greg, Tom and Geoff, but if the product is going to be this bad there are other options. I'm rooting for the NFBC to work this out because I have a lot of time and money invested. But we've got a ways to go to get back to even get back to where we were in years past. And from what I've seen my confidence is wavering.

You should be able to click on a player in Live Scoring or in your roster and be linked to a page that has this season's stats as well as injury info.
