Standings Issue Being Worked On
Yeah the standings are messed up in my leagues also. So I'm sure that it is affecting most of the leagues to just make you guys aware. Please double and triple check them for each league especially with the adjustments teams have made and the enormous amount of problems to this point. There needs to be someone checking that the Week 0 stats are included. Also that the players inserted after the 2nd running of FAAB stats are included in the stats up to this point.

While some category total points are wrong (i.e. someone with an ERA of 10 is shown with 13 points) the overall point total of each team is correct with the exception of one half of a point somewhere. (i.e. the first place team shown on my league standings page is actually the first place team - and actually does have the same point total shown).
I'm not sure where the programming problem lies, and I would not trust the category point totals, but if your league is like mine, the overall point total is either correct or off by a half point. I've looked at several league pages this morning and it's obvious that the total rank points aren't being added correctly. I see pitching points and hitting points that aren't added correctly and I see rank points in each category not being awarded properly. I'm hopeful that the stats are added correctly and the rank points are being calculated incorrectly. I have no idea how we could get that wrong since Fanball has run 4x4 and 5x5 leagues for almost two decades, but I trust the calculation of rank points is something that we can fix.
I see we also have batting average going out to one decimal point or two points. That needs to be changed ASAP. I want a .300 hitter like that, not .3. We don't need the 0 in front of the decimal point either.
The Rank column throws me off in each category, but I can get used to that. We can tighten that tab soon or get rid of it altogether. But I like WHIP and ERA going out four places, assuming we have the third of an inning now calculated correctly.
I'm going through all of this myself and looking for notable changes. We need to change the look of the League Home and get standings up top, front and center like last year. League message boards there too and bigger. Player notes next and the rest somewhere less of a priority. Draft order can now be moved to the Roster page.
We'll get this corrected and the right Rank Points calculated shortly. If scoring was wrong, someone tell me about that because that's what the title of this thread says. I need to know where you see that. Right now I see rank points calculated wrong across the board.

They need someone that can bridge the gap between business requirements and development and ensure the developer understands what is needed.
I can see all through this site that they let a programmer dictate look and feel and everything else. Believe me, I know this first hand.
Geoff, you need to look into your team dynamics in your IT area and not rely on programmers to be making decisions when it comes to end user product. (If this is not the case, then your analysts are not very good)
Too many things are going wrong and if you are a large company you need to spend some buck to have a solid leader on your IT team that can LEAD to success. This type of consistent miscues are going to ruin your reputation.
Things can look pretty and thats what some developers want, but my mindset on my team is get the DATA RIGHT then we can work on the reporting aspect and look and feel later. I think Fanball worked in the reverse order
Just my 2 cents
This post is SPOT ON. programmers do not understand the business side of things at all!

[/QUOTE]Point I'm making is that the overall scores are correct (i.e. the first place team in my league should have 130 points and they do have 130 points). Despite what we are seeing as radically wrong points, the end result is correct. That would lead me to believe that the problem with stats might not be the back end data, just how it is being read by the front end display mechanism.

Thanks Hawk. That's what I was wondering as well - are the total points correct but the other numbers are incorrect? I'm not a programmer but if that's the case then perhaps that will expedite the solution.

Looks to me the overall point totals and the stats are correct. The pitching and hitting point totals and the period 2 team stat pages are not displaying correctly.

They seem to be off by one full point distributed in 2 half points to two different teams (i.e. we should have had 115 points and had 114.5. another team should have had 90 points and had 90.5. )
All the other teams were correct.

Interesting watching things getting fixed in real time ... looks like the League Standings page is now correct (including ERA and WHIP calculations)! ... Team Stats pages still not correct (at least for ERA and WHIP), but that will likely be correct soon ... Hurray!

as a headhunter- greg- tom- get fanball to reach out to panther pride and spend the $ to hire him. where this is going will probably not work no matter how hard you and tom work. the person causing the problem is the one trying to fix it. the one thing i do know is- if anyone from corporate or the fanball bosses read these boards- if you lose greg and tom- you will not have many customers. from reading the boards- the most supportive people are long time customers of..... greg and tom. the new customers - the 1st or maybe second year customers- are pretty much done. they joined ' fanball' and it has sucked. this is day 4 and every problem that is solved only has led to other problems that we see. more transactions will occur friday and then on sunday. i haven't seen one thing run correctly when compared to last year. not the standings, the bidding, the team pages- nothing. people talked about it before this happened and were trashed on these boards. they were right. i hope guys like vander- a long time customer - have been told by ryan or someone that they were right. i really don't think anyone blames greg or tom or geof- but most customers, and fanball does not know this- "speak with their feet". in other words- they just leave.

Just a quick heads-up.... My Live DP leagues still shows wrong calculations for WHIP and ERA. 31.2 innngs has to be converted to 31 and 2/3 innings to do math correctly; not 31 and 2/10 innings.
OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

Id rather the standings be in question on April seventh then on October 1st. You are missing the point then. Tom and Greg aren't programmers and are not fixing these issues. A lousy IT team is responsible for these screw-ups. If the screw-ups continue, many people will be doubting the standings on October 1st based on how much they have screwed up already.
