The following are available in my free agent player pool:

Guillermo Rodriguez, C

Carlos Delgado, 1B

Dmitri Young, 1B

All three should be removed.

My post concerned players who shouldn't be in the free agent pool AT ALL!

Saunders, Joe Marshall, Sean Sanchez, Anibal Garcia, Jaime Storen, Drew Norris, Bud I believe they are showing up in both pools: Pitchers and hitters. We are taking them out of the hitters pool this weekend.

Here are some more errors in the Free Agent pool:

Cole Gillespie, OF

Cliff Floyd, OF

Reid Gorecki, OF

Brian Giles, OF

Juan Encarnacion, OF

Again, these players should be removed from the pool.

Greg, tried to PM but your box was full.

All of these players are minor leaguers, retired, or free agents. None of them were drafted and subsequently waived.

Thanks!

Again, these players should be removed from the pool. Add Gary Sheffield to the list, too.

For the "Position: DH" list:

1) remove Nomar Garciaparra (not on an active MLB roster or 15-day DL)

2) the following players should not appear on this list, as they are eligible at positions other than UT

(a) Willy Aybar, 1B/2B

(b) Jason Giambi, 1B

(c) Carlos Guillen, OF

(d) Brayan Pena, C

(e) Marcus Thames, OF

(f) Ty Wigginton, 1B/3B

Thanks! As RT said this morning: "Surprised?" My PM box is now open for business. :D

Since you're doing the due diligence, just email me this full list of players and I'll make sure they are pulled from the player pool. I'm not sure why they were in the pool to begin with because we pared the list down to 25-man rosters on Monday. We can pare this down rather easily. Do this via email by tomorrow morning if you can. Thanks and sorry to everyone for having Smoltz in the FAAB pool. ;)

Are / were any players pulled mid-week this period? Is there the potential of someone bidding on a player early in the week and other owners not having access to that player later in the week?

Greg,

I think you should only be making deletions like this early in the week -- not right before FA bidding.

1. am I correct that there are no changes to the FA pool (either additions or deletions) after the 7am Sunday cutoff?

2. if you make some of the suggested deletions on Saturday, what will you do if someone ends up winning the player because they put in a bid before the player was deleted?

If someone "wins" Carlos Delgado or another player that shouldn't have been in the pool to begin with, the bid should be invalidated and the claim removed.

I trust Greg to do the right thing here.
I don't think it's quite so easy. What if the player who won Delgado had a conditional bid that then wins a player that was awarded to another team? And when are all of these changes going to be made, Monday monrning?
You are correct, Jim. It's not so easy. If the pool was correct from the beginning, that would be the best solution.

I only became aware of the problem last night. It was reported to Greg on Saturday night, yet today the players still appear in the free agent pool. Hopefully this doesn't become an issue tonight or tomorrow.

Greg, if you're reading this, please chime in with your thoughts. This isn't as simple as claiming retired players -- there are major league free agents who were not drafted that should not be eligible for pickup this week.

Of course I'm reading, but today is my anniversary so I need to spend more time with No. 1 than No. 1A. :D I've asked IT to help in this situation after learning about these free agents and all should NOT be in the free agent pool. I have not heard back from John yet on what can be done at this point in the week, but I hope to soon.

Man this stuff just does not end. I feel for ya Greg. I hope you can have a great day with your family and someone like Ryan Houston can step up and help.

This first week reminds me of those careerbuilder commercials and what it must feel like for Greg, Tom, and Geoffrey.
