Carlos Ruiz was available for bid, but he was awarded to no one. Was he dropped or not? If so, why was there no communication??

Ummm...Greg please respond to this one. This seriously affected my bidding. If Ruiz really wasn't available then that probably cost me Chris Snyder. Not happy

He's on someone's roster, maybe it was a mistake, but no communication. There is a history transaction of dropping him last week.

AC2 and AC3 originally had two Carlos Marmols each. In both cases, the second player drafted should have been Mike Stanton.

Not sure what happened with Ruiz, though.

Not sure what happened with Ruiz, though. This is correct -- there was a big web that took a while to sort out involving Marmol, Stanton and Ruiz.

Lets just say that Stanton and Jeff Clement won't be on the NFBC X-Mas card list this year.

[/QUOTE]Geoff- no issues here if your programmers are in charge of the Christmas card list Jeff Clement's card would to Matt Clement and Mike Stanton will have already been traded by the Marlins in a salary dump before the cards are sent.

Speaking of Jeff Clement....

He is responsible for the issue in this league regarding Carlos Ruiz. The owner who had Ruiz dumped him to add Clement at catcher, where he wasn't eligible in the NFBC.

As a result, the transaction involving Ruiz and Clement had to be rolled back to give that team a valid roster.

Once again, it was our fault for not communicating the move with the rest of the league, and we will work on a way to make sure a similar issue doesn't happen again.

Geoff,

Are you saying that there were two Carlos Ruiz's in the Vegas league? If that is the case where was the communication? I lost out on Chris Snyder because of this. Please explain more.

I understand the rule about a valid roster, but Jeff Clement was talked about enough before the season, I can't believe someone didn't realize that. Rule is a rule, but that guy who did that should have lost Ruiz and been awarded a FA catcher. That bonehead move just majorly affected my team.

What does this mean? Work on a way??...what will be the process, please post here.

As you can tell I'm a tad irritated since this cost me a potential 15 HR catcher

Geoff or Greg,

Are you sure that awarding a player back because of illegal roster has always been the process in the NFBC?? I think I've seen an owner given another FA because they made a stupid mistake. My blood is boiling here.

We will discuss ways to let the other league members know of a roster correction -- automated emails and posts to the league homepage come to mind.

Clement at cathcer was our fault, as well, as the system was listing him as being eligible there despite his first base only status. The owner wasn't at fault -- he did something the system allowed him to.

My blood is boiling here. Kevin, we had 12 instances last week where owners cut their catcher and picked up Jeff Clement via free agency because Clement was listed as a catcher in FAAB. We reversed all of those moves to make their rosters legal and told all of them why we had to do this. Yeah, I know nobody wants to hear it but Clement showing up as a catcher in FAAB WAS OUR FAULT. He is not a C, never was allowed as a C in any drafts and most definitely should not have showed up as a C in FAAB.

I didn't look at LV1 about Ruiz or Clement, just stating what we did last week with Ruiz. Call me at 715-254-5553 if you want to discuss the Ruiz situation more and I'll see what more I can find out here.
