Adam Dunn Dropped?????

Greg,

Adam Dunn was dropped in Las Vegas League #2..is that moved allowed, mistake, does he stay in the FA pool....

The team that dropped Dunn picked up Zack Duke who is listed as a corner infielder....

I have Dunn in my league and I have noticed the issue. I am sure it happened because his name is alphabetically first and the FAAB system lists him as the drop automatically until you change it.

correct. i wrote an email to greg immediately. bumgarner was to be dropped. i recommended that no player is defaulted to be dropped.

This is how Adam Lind was incorrectly dropped last week. I have asked IT to default this to Player Selection because we just can't keep going on this way with Alex Rodriguez and other A's possibly being dropped. We are fixing these cuts and will contact the owners if needed to make sure they cut the right player. The system default is definitely defunked for us.

Every time it lists Pujols as my player to be dropped I get a little jumpy.

In the Free Agent section, the dropped player default now goes to SELECT PLAYER. Sorry for any inconvenience the previous setup caused folks.

Looks good, Greg. This should alleviate some of the problems.

Would it be possible to provide a list of players who are accidentally/illegally waived, then returned to the owner? This could be done as a sticky post on the message board that only you, Tom or Geoff would be able to edit. Owners would be assured that if the waived player isn't on that list, it's a legitimate drop.

Thoughts?

Yeah, we can do that once we have everything figured out today. I see an Adam Dunn reversal coming, an Adam Laroche reversal...sheesh. We all knew that default would bite us a few times and we still didn't get that fixed in time. But we have it fixed going forward.

Let us get these done before the noon game and hopefully we can have a list tonight. I'm having Geoff help me with these, so hopefully he can compile one.

I know someone else mentioned this, but once you save the list, you can not edit and add a conditional again. I had to start new lists 4 times yesturday. Once the list is saved, we have to start over if we want a conditional.

Other thing was; players dropped go to bottom of all free agent position list instead of alphabetical.

Last thing; waivers are going by team instead of by highest acquire to lowest amount acquired.

Geoff is definitely on-the-ball with this stuff. His explanations regarding the Carlos Ruiz and Neftali Feliz problems from yesterday were spot-on. The biggest error was in communicating what had happened to the rest of the league. If there's a public log of these kinds of mistakes, it will certainly help people going forward.

Just hit edit and then you can add the conditional bid.
