Ottawaclo -- what happened last week is inexcusable and sucked. However, this was the only time I've ever seen a real problem with an NFBC game. I've played NFBC/NFFC almost since it began, and I've played CDM/Fanball for years and years. They're generally very well run and the integrity has always been impeccable (except last Monday). I'm assuming things will be fine from now on.

Again, there were lots of people asking us to do a number of things after FAAB reran at 2 ET, like wait until the end of the week and let everyone start their best possible lineups, or let everyone set a lineup starting on Tuesday, etc. I wanted Week 1 set in stone as fast as possible and with everyone setting starting lineups before any more games started. I didn't realize all starting lineups reset to where they were before FAAB run, but quickly learned how long it takes to reset 800+ lineups.
We erred with the first FAAB, plain and simple. Everything else after that is a result of that. Every owner had to get me their starting lineups as quickly as possible with seven games started.
Hey, I hate reading every email, every post, every PM criticizing me/us and telling me how much this sucks. I have some people who used to be best friends ripping me apart via emails because they hate what happened. Every word hurts. Every customer disappointed hurts. Now I'm dealing with this one questioning the integrity of all of us again. It sucks. But it sucked that we had to get lineups after games started but the alternatives some folks requested would have been worse.

[/QUOTE]For what it is worth I think you made the correct call in a no win situation. I also think it is time to move on from the constant chatter about what happened last Monday. We will all remember it for awhile. Things are moving in the right direction very swiftly.
As far as Mark goes I like him. I think he is a good guy. I have no idea if he cheated or if he did not. I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt like everyone should get.
I know that stats at the beginning of the year are like they pretty much are for any week stretch in the season. Some guys hit 130 some hit 430. I do find it hard to believe that so many quality pitchers have a week like this very often. Add Jurjens and Peavy to the list today.
One last thought about integrity that I am only posting b/c I love the quote. Integrity is what you say when everyone is watching and what you do when no one is watching.

You could have sent an email Sunday night that said "If I get my conditional pick Moyer, start him instead of Padilla."
You didn't.
You could have sent that email Monday morning.
You didn't.
Instead, in true Gekko fashion, you waited until after the game started, and Padilla was giving up runs, and then you sent an email...
and somehow, you've managed to BS your way out of a jam, again.
Gee, what a surprise.

Unfortunately, as has been mentioned, it's very obvious not all were honest. Anyone who doesn't see that also thinks OJ is innocent. OJ wasn't innocent????

But you did tell me to "trust you" when I mentioned it...leading me to think you were going to police those changes...I don't question your integrity and I want you to know that...maybe I misunderstood what you meant there when you said "trust me"...

Greg -- maybe I missed something in all the posts, but I don't think anybody was questioning YOUR integrity or NFBC's integrity. We were only questioning Gekko's integrity.

Actually I like the idea of backdating roster moves. I could use one right now after benching Kyle Blanks. Doh!

Greg, I will say this and then I am done with this issue...I said part of this in another thread but I want you to see it...it does not seem right to give the individuals who had FAAB bidz an option to have part of a cheat game and be able to take advantage of it...they were allowed to take Padilla or others out and those of us who did not have FAAB bids were allowed to take players out and why I begged for a cheat day once the FAAB got foulked up because those with FAAB bids in the system were going to get an advantage no matter how slight. They got the option to take Padilla out, myself and others did not, which makes an uneven playing field...You made the decision to not police the FAAB bid moves and even if I don't like it I will live with it...and it does not mean I don't trust you now, it just meanz you made a tough decision I did not like...we are good...
Rock on...

Why is Gekko allowed to make posts like the one in the first page of the "I Apologize" thread when other people get kicked off these boards for it? Thanks.
