Seriously.

Why the hell when I click on a player on my team (to look at their stats) do I see a big colorful picture of Chipper Jones (ex.) who I DON'T EVEN OWN????

Load times are rough, but honestly, things seem to be getting better.

Some people are saying "move this stat here, move this stat there", but for every person who wants it one way, there is someone else who is fine with it.

I'm definitely in the "you can't please everyone" camp.

Just so the upgrades don’t get lost in the shuffle:

1. Load time for free agents HAS TO BE REDUCED. As someone noted earlier, one of the problems is all of the images on the page. Just like fanball magazines contain lots of graphics and color pages, the web pages are the same way. Us players don't care about the graphics when it is costing us HOURS EACH WEEK.

2. Stats shown by free agents have to be enhanced.

For pitchers, please add: games pitched, games started, walks allowed (adding hr’s allowed would be nice touch).

For hitters, please add: BB, OBP, SLG, OPS (adding 2B & 3B would be nice touch). Please move ‘runs’ back to the left of ‘hr’.

3. Free agents dropdowns have to be enhanced. The only time period you can pick is 2010.

Please add: 'last 7 days', 'last 14 days', 'last 21 days', by month, etc...

4. Please list all winning free agent bids in descending order.

I remember being told that the fanball back-end would be BETTER than the STATS backend. Well, we will be entering Week 3 of the season and all of the things mentioned above were included in the STATS backend. I will remove each of these from the list as they are accomplished. Thanks again. Thanks to everyone for going through the site and continuously providing suggestions. However, some suggestions are personal preferences. Mark, on the free agent page you want OBP, SLG, OPS, etc.? That's your choice. I just went through free agent pages and I don't see a a need for THIRTEEN categories among free agents. Doubles and triples on the free agent page??

We have said that John is working on the loading for the free agents pages. He feels he has a working solution that will be tested this week and hopefully unveiled.

We need 7 day and 14 day periods for free agents. We need Period tabs for overall standings. We need Period tabs in other spots. Those are important and things we're working on through many other suggestions before this post. I see some Team Stats functions that need to be done first, like showing Bench Player stats.

Free agents are in team alphabetical order. I understand what you're saying, but feeling this needs to be done before improving Live Scoring or the Watch List is, well, silly. We need to address the Watch List first.

I've stated what we are working on and will unveil this week. We have several programmers working on all of this and we're not just sitting still. This reminds me of all we kept asking STATS for since 2004 and eventually got. We're not talking about having everything NEXT YEAR, but doing what we can to add as many things as possible each week that goes by. But your preference list is different than ours and we're doing all we can to improve the functions that matter to everyone right now.

Greg,

I don't look at silly watch lists, live scoring, or even the overall leaderboard. I can understand why people would.

Looking at free agents quickly accompanied by them having more stats listed for more time periods is what I use and am focused on.

Thanks for you consideration.

Thanks for you consideration. Mark, while your concerns are valid, those mentioned by others are what's important to them and some of your concerns may be deemed silly by them.

Either way, I think the most important item on the agenda for today is to make sure that FAAB runs properly, quickly, and on time.
Jack, if I don't respond to this it makes it look like our programmers have left baseball for football, which isn't true. If I do respond, then I'm damned for doing it, as Lance said. I just respond sometimes to let folks know I'm not "asleep at the wheel" as another prominent NFBC member called us. Trust me, I'm not sleeping, nor ignoring.

Honestly, this is like NFBC 2004, 2005, 2006 and through 2009. I wish we could just transfer the finished product of 2009 and then add everything we know we can add to it, but it's not that easy. We should have had more ready on Opening Day, but as you can see we're adding as we go and I'm prioritizing what I think is most important. Glenn is ready, FAAB tonight should now run smoothly and timely and then we add the other features this week I mentioned on Friday. We're moving forward as are most of the players.
Sorry, I missed that one. There are NINE programmers working on this??? I assume you don't mean full-time. If there are NINE programmers working on this full-time, you may want to look at hiring people who know what they are doing. Give these "improvements" to a college level programming class and they are done in days, not weeks (and soon I fear months). Sheesh.

Not being able to view last 7 days or Period 2 stats makes Free Agent hunting really time consuming. I'm not sure what the priority list is with IT but I hope this is near the top.

Nine programmers working on this? NINE??? As in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9? And three weeks into the season they can't even provide bench stats?

Notwithstanding the myriad other difficulties, not the least of which is somehow not being ready for the START of the season - without a doubt, they've got to be the nine stupidest programmers ever! wtf did these guys do before they got hired at fanball?

Do they actually accept money for their work?

If one thing's obvious to me, it's that Fanball has learned from this experience, one I'm sure they'll never want to relive, and they are doing everything possible to make it up to the player and more. We'll get there Bud.

On another note....

I know you don't pay attention to early season stats, but nice starts in the overalls. Well done so far. ;)

One minute you're hoping our programmer isn't wasting his time on football and leaving baseball. Next minute you're calling out all the programmers who are working on all different facets of our different games when I tell you you're wrong.

I appreciate the creative suggestions everyone is giving us. The rest is funny MB posts when your wife and kids are gone, that's about it. But stirring up the citizens and taking the onus off you is what you do best. Keep it going.

You are right to ask for any and all improvements. But the rest isn't moving us ahead at all.

We don't have nine folks working on NFBC alone right now. Fanball has plenty of other products and several of our creative members were working on the NFBC home page and contests and are now working on the NFFC home page and contest links, rules, registration, etc. However, had I said that then Gekko would have accused us of leaving baseball for football.

You guys have taken another suggestion thread into a new area. It's fine. Take it for a ride; I'm done with it. Good luck today and we'll make sure the suspended game stats are correct everywhere.

And we see yet again that some customers opinions are valued and others are dismissed. One of the secrets to good customer service is to make everyone think their opinions matter. That is clearly not the case here.

As for the programmers, I could post an ad on the web today, do the interviewing and hiring tomorrow, and in ten days tops have a better web site running. In twenty days, it would be perfect.

I disagree with this post. If there's one thing that should never be criticized when it comes to this contest, it's the customer service.

i like a lot of things greg. those however are cosmetic things. now that i had a chance to delve in a bit, i see more work is needed and quick. sorry for being honest.
