NY $650 AL Auction Is Full

Post by Tom Kessenich » Thu Mar 10, 2005 12:45 pm

Thanks to the cooperation of the four owners who originally ponied up $1,250 to compete in the AL auction and agreed to go down to $650, we have now filled up another of our auctions -- this one the AL Auction in New York. That league has 12 teams and we'll be picking the (reserve draft) order tomorrow and posting everything here at some point during the day.

Thanks again to everyone who agreed to save a little money on their entry fees in order to help us close out that league.

Great job Greg and Tom! Thanks also to the guys in the $1250 AL Auction from those of us in the $650 auction. We appreciate you moving on down to our price level.

This puts a nice bow on another wrapped up league!

See you all next Friday.

Ed - Yes, we meet again. I hope I learned something from last year. That was my first ever auction. Of course, this is only me second, so maybe I can manage to finish around 6th this time. The entry price will be treated like a seminar-type learning experience. In about 10 years or so I hope to start making some money in the auctions.

Hey, you doing the regular draft too? I'm in all 3... Big weekend. I should be fried by Sunday night.

See you at the Javits Center!

It's the Hilton, Pete. We wouldn't want you to miss out on the big weekend completely by going to the wrong place. ;)

Pete and Eddie, I would have liked to return but I couldn't guarantee a 4pm arrival on that particular Friday. The way things are looking as of right now, I probably could have done it. Who knows--maybe I'll throw my name down for the mixed auction.

That would be pretty funny if you guys wound up in the same main event league--all 5 leagues from 2004 and 2005 you'd be in together.

Hope to see you both next weekend.

We do have 2 openings for the Mixed Auction in NY. I know Greg's talking to someone about taking one of them but we'd still have room if you wanted to come aboard ...

King O Queens - Yea, that would be funny. It will probably happen too... By the way, I think they just filled one mixed spot, leaving just one left for you. Go for it! What the heck, it's only time and money.

Hope to see ya there!

That's correct. We're at 14 for the Mixed Auction in NY and Chicago. So one more spot to go.

Eddie - I see we will be sitting pretty far apart (I have pick 5, you have 11) so I probably won't be able to see your cheat-sheet. Drats!

Hey, do you recall if the reserve rounds start with team 1 or 12; and are they serpentine?

Thanks,

Pete
