It's quite difficult to see who's available and who isn't when the sort functions do not work properly. To think that everyone had a fair shot is not correct. I hope it all works out.

young will probably only get a handful of at bats, but if he does well, Barmes could be out of a job and the Rockies will finally have that real leadoff hitter they wanted. if that happens this week (which i doubt), the bids for EY2 will be smoak range

The question is, should he have been available? and if not what happens from this point?

If you have a problem with him being in the pool....bring it up before the deadline.

Glenn Glenn - I go by my Excel spreadsheet that shows all free agents. if someone was added on Sunday after the deadline, that player won't be on my spreadsheet. i personally wouldn't know it's an issue until after the fact.

Greg,

All good in New York 1... he was picked up in week 1 and also good in 10am Auction in NY as he was originally drafted... so he would be available in both leagues... think this would be the case in quite a few leagues and some people just assumed he wasnt available til next week and didnt check...

just trying to say young will probably be a "nothing". so if you lose your triple digit bid tomorrow, in all likelihood, you'll be happy to have that money back next sunday.

but, you have to realize he has a lot of potential and can't be swept under the rug and allowed to be picked up if only a few people knew he was there.

Glenn,

You said you'd "check into it." It took me 2 minutes to glance through the draft results and another minute to view the free agent transactions.

Did you check into it? If no, why not? If so, you would have seen he shouldn't have been made available and you should have notified Greg of this as soon as you found out.

Sounds like Greg will look into this in the a.m. and proceed according to the rules. It looks like only 1 team in NY5 will be affected as there were no opposing bids.

I don't have access to all winning bids tonight, so tomorrow hopefully I'll have that in the morning. At that point I'll look into each league. I've already asked the IT department to make sure no free agents were added after 7 am et and if any were we have to rectify that. No free agents can be added after our deadline and I hope none were. I'll know more when I have access to all of this information and will work it out according to our rules.

Did you check into it? If no, why not? If so, you would have seen he shouldn't have been made available and you should have notified Greg of this as soon as you found out. I checked to see in which of my leagues he was available....

At the time I didn't check to see if he was drafted or if he was picked up and dropped for my "ELEVEN" NFBC FAAB teams. I would have never had time for that. I was getting ready to review my initial bids and make changes and adjustments. That took me right to the 8PM deadline.

I figured I could always verify if he was picked up and dropped in all the leagues he was available after the fact.

My initial post was merely to point out that EY's availability should be consistent throughout the leagues and the contests and even brought up that Kam Makilio was picked up in one league last week even though he was unavailable in many others. Did I call for Mackilio to be removed from that team's roster? Of course not. He was already bid on & awarded.

Greg also never alluded in his response to my post that EY could be bid on and removed from the winning roster if he was available incorrectly. Therefore, why would it cross my mind that this could happen? If Greg knew it was possible and didn't seem concerned, why would I be?

Obviously if I thought there was any chance that his eligibility would be in question when he was ALREADY on the free agent list, I would have questioned it further and posted my concerns and thoughts on the matter just as I did in the Jaso thread.

I can't confirm with 100% accuracy, but I believe E.Young was already in the free agent pool in my 3 leagues within an hour after (it could of been before, but that is when I checked) it was reported on RotoWorld that Eric Young "tweeted" that he was getting called up tot he big club.

Maybe one of the IT guys got the "tweet" and added him immediately!

Though I understand where those arguing the other side are coming from, I don't necessarily feel their argument is more valid or more fair. However, I am far from unbiased in this debate...

I've never been a complainer and won't become one now.

Therefore, whatever's decided is best for the integrity of the contest I'll accept without argument or complaint. Just please advise me early enough to make any adjustments that may be necessary if an incorrect ruling is made that goes the wrong way... ;) If the ruling goes against me, I'm assuming there's a good chance this will affect me in numerous leagues. I'm just too tired to check if its one or more of the leagues I won him in.

EY2 Protocol?

2. Determine if EY2 was drafted or picked up in Week 1 of FAAB. If he was, that league is fine. If he wasn't, proceed to step 3.

3. EY2 bids voided and then what? Owner gets his next FAAB bid according to his list from TONIGHT? what if the next player was picked up by another owner for less money? so you are making the rules and telling Greg how to run the game? Comedy

Eric Young Jr., a 25 year old minor leaguer with just 30 MLB games under his belt, a mediocre BA in majors and minors and a stolen base ratio of 50 percent, and no guaranteed starting job whatsoever has become such a great player overnight (or overtweet?) that he now deserves 4 pages and counting.

If people thought he would be so good, why didn't people draft him?
