Bad news is there wasn't another bidder. :D

It's ok. I'm still happy.

He should be a nice addition to Lincecum, Greinke, Liriano, Colby Lewis, Jurrjens, Randy Wells.

70 points in pitching?

70 points in pitching? Rookie mistake....what did you see that got you juices flowing? Was it the Twilight Zone?
I could say the same for the people that bid $300+ on rookie hitters?

Not a rookie here, but overpaid for Webb none the less. Bid $108. Follow-up bid was $1. Live and learn..... but how long do I have to live to really learn it all?

Pete Is this worth $100+ of excitement?

He's throwing on three consecutive days from flat ground at this point, while Webb's workout on Friday included simulated mound work using his delivery while holding a towel. "It just helps me to get the feel of the slope of the mound," Webb said. "That's the biggest thing in going from flat ground to the mound. This should help." In the best-case scenario, Webb will return to the D-Backs at some point in June, but his recovery has been a very slow one thus far.

It's tough picking up guys that you know will just occupy a bench spot for more then a month. I picked up Montero in 2 leagues and hope he is back in 3-4 weeks because my catchers have stunk and there is nothing else on the waiver.

Throw a dart and he's probably over performing (whomever).
Using your analogy, I'll wait 6 weeks and bang Brandon Webb 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

IMHO he is absolutely worth the wait, it obviously remains to be seen how he performs but the reward in my opinion outweighs the risk. Most will spend more FAAB than that over multiple combined bids chasing a guy with Webb's potential ie Justin Masterson (yawn) and come up short almost everytime. I'm not embarrassed of my bid or the fact that nobody else did. I merely misread what the rest of the league/world would think.

On a side note Shawn: I'm 19 points ahead of 2nd place in my 4/1 WTA. Wish me luck man. I WANT this so bad. Any help is hugely appreciated. I owe you big time if I win.

I overspent probably in reaction to Sheets "pooping the sheets" and Baker and Billingsley both looking like they stink this year too. Saw Webb available and flashed back to when he was someone. Time will tell. If my hitting keeps me in it the Webb pick up might make for a nice stretch run. If not, there goes 10% of my money.

Got outbid on Cecil this week...too bad. Put in $40 for him, not enough. In hindsight, put $125 in for Cecil and $40 in for Webb.

Really, I need to focus more on improving my offense. So the Webb play is a little suspect in that regard.
