You said you don't watch games, where does your assessment come from? His 17 games last year? All scouts think Posey is a legit talent. If you did watch, you'd see he has above average bat speed, he'll hit for a good average at the very least, which is all that you want from a catcher. I do not understand why you've invested so much into blasting Posey. You don't like him, fair enough...I remember your scouting/predictions of Delgado 2 years ago, his bat speed shot, bad lower half, he's done...to the tune of 38 Hr's!
cobb,

i don't hate the guy. .277 from here on out for a catcher is very good. one of the best in fact. however, his power is not legit IMO. he is going from PCL parks to SF and AAA pitching to ML pitching.

my assessment is based on that criteria. i alos "hated" on wieters last year and he underperformed everyone's expectations.

again, not a hater, just realistic. if AAA #'s meant 100% majoe league success, Derek Holland would be a major league stud!!

After 4-4, 2HR,6RBI's today it leaves Posey at .331 with 5 HR's already...many of us told you to stop being a hater!
no adjustment necessary. he has shown limited power in the minors while playing in the PCL. i like to play the %'s and the %'s say he's NOT a power hitter. sorry.

however, scoreboard always speaks and he's exceeded my expectations (just like many other players have).

what's more impressive is the fact that this recent power surge has been to the opposite field. Today's jack was on a change up to right field and I know one of last night's bombs was to right center. I like what I see.
I probably agree on Posey, but every once in awhile the minor league numbers just don't accurately portray a player. H-Ram hit just 27 homers in 1700 minor league PAs and he's a power hitter in the majors. Posey hit almost that number of homers in the minors in less than half the PAs. Try not to read too much into just 150 PCL PAs.
