Free Agents Quick Feature Added

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue May 11, 2010 2:41 am

We added a new feature to each of your leagues that I think will save you a lot of time each week as you manage your teams. It's called Free Agent Quick and it's located under your Transactions tab. It's the second one from the top and in a matter of seconds all of the available free agents in your league appear alphabetically by position. That is a feature that I did not know was being worked on, but it's a fantastic time saver for all of you.

The best part is that you can bid right off this list, saving you plenty of time. The bid feature comes right up on that page, allowing you to make bids and conditional bids without jumping into the free agents listing. This is a great, great addition and a time saver through the week, but especially on Sundays. A Remaining Budget key is also on that page so that you know exactly how much you have to spend.

Thanks for the pleasant surprise John, Cory and the rest of the IT team in St. Louis. You didn't even tell me this one was coming. But I LOVE IT. Awesome addition and one that will play nicely in football, too. Thanks.

I like this one a lot, Greg. Should be a huge timesaver.

Are all of these features going to be available on the football site as well?

Are all of these features going to be available on the football site as well? Yeah, I totally agree. I didn't know this one was coming, but that one is a HUGE time saver. HUGE when you can look at one list on one page involving every free agent. In fact, now if anyone sees a discrepency on a player in the free agent pool, they can contact me immediately thanks to this list.

Yes on all of these features. Conditional Bids, My Transactions list, Free Agent Quick, Roster Grid, etc. All of those features are already being carried over to football. We met on all of that last week in St. Louis. The NFFC site will be live tomorrow night with details on everything, including live drafts in more than a handful of cities. Yes, that many. YIKES!!!

Like the new feature - easy to use.

It should be noted that Jeff Clement shows up in the C column.

I'm confused. Why are the programming team implementing features that you aren't aware of? That seems like a recipe for disaster...and the exact same flaw in the development process that has led to so many of the problems this year.

This is a "nice" new feature that could be made into a "great" new feature if a "compare" box were added to each player for up to 4 players. This would allow us to see how players stack up against each other in the fantasy categories when deciding who to bid for.

Greg -I have to agree with waiverwire here. If you are not communicating with the IT department, or vice versa, when we post on this board about known problems or requested enhancements, are they just wasted time and effort on our part? I posted about a Player Search problem that is now over a week old and still a problem, and got no response from you, Tom, or Geoff if this was being looked at by IT. Are these problems / enhancements even being communicated to IT?

Kinda defeats the purpose of a Quick View free agent page if you start adding stats and compare features and etc………..

That info is available on the regular free agent page.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Luck and skill give Greg a raise and tell HR to get off Tom's back about the "incident" with the intern.

[/QUOTE]I do love my donut in the morning. Good read there. Nothing like a shot and a donut to kick off the day. :D

We are in constant contact with IT about the site. But I'll admit, I don't know if the Free Agent Watch was part of another product they were adding this to or if they were working on it with the other Free Agent enhancements, but I like it. And only on these boards could me saying I was surprised to see this enhancement turn a positive thread into a negative. But great to see the donuts pulled us out from the abyss. ;)

Speaking of the "incident", if you guys ever want to watch a really good movie, I uploaded a film to Youtube called "The Incident". See if you can recognize Tom or Greg in it.
