Now, the team that picked him up has him coming back this week and essentially gets an OF #1 for the rest of the season perhaps.

Just sayin... Worth a lot more than Sizemore, but 12-team lges are a lot different than the main event.
Sizemore was pulled in his DP League too.

There has to be some sort of recourse for such a terrible ruling. I paid good money to compete and I am being handcuffed.

I am very upset.

I am very upset. For what it's worth Ocho I agree with you. If there is no collusion and the integrity of the game isn't being compromised you have to let it go. I'm not involved in the leagues these occurrences are happening in. Sounds like you'll have to move on. They're going to wait for further clarification on the injury in which case they will have either saved you your FAAB $'s or cost you all of them if he's able to return and is returned to the pool.

Good Luck.

While I disagreed with both rulings this week, in defense of Greg and Tom, this topic has come up before and it's just too much work to come up with a dynamic list of players that can't be picked up if they are dropped. It's there is a source out on the internet somewhere that constantly reranks the in-season virtual ADP, they could use that and have a cut line, but I don't know if that exists.

I'm fine with your call and respect your decision making process. I prefer the human approach to decisions like this (and accidental drops too) as opposed to the hard line in the sand.

I have Grady in a super - boy what a suck job #2 pick. I just hope I have the sack to cut him Sunday - ha ! yes pun intended !

Grady's career hasn't been the same thanks to a woman.

An ex-girlfriend posted nude pictures of Size(more?) on the net.

Since then, no luck on the field, and maybe, less off.

I think he'll be available for everyone next week:

Grady Sizemore (knee) will undergo arthroscopic surgery this week to determine the extent of his injury.

Sizemore will be out 6-8 weeks at the minimum, but if the scope find a microfracture, it'll be much longer than that. It's all bad news for the Indians, but at least it's some clarity on what was originally called a bone bruise. Hold on to Sizemore until after the scope. If he's got a microfracture, it may be time to part ways, but if not, he'll be back in August for your stretch run.

Source: Anthony Castrovince on Twitter Yes, things got much clearer this week about Sizemore's status. On Monday there were reports that he could return by Wednesday and then other reports that he could face surgery. There was just too much uncertainty when I had to decide whether to keep him in the two national contest free agent pools or not. The Indians' update today makes it much easier to keep him in all FAAB pools going forward, including the two we removed him from, starting next week.

Sizemore was dropped in three NFBC main event leagues tonight and in eight Double Play leagues. We will reinstate Sizemore in the two leagues he was removed from last week and all owners in these 13 leagues will have the ability to pick up Sizemore this week via FAAB. Good luck all and thanks for your patience while we evaluated his injury status.

I think something needs to be written in the rules, so that Greg and Tom do not have to make a decision and take the backlash from some people. No matter what decision they personally make people are not going to like it. If Sizemore was left in those 2 leagues some people would have spent a pretty penny to find out he was out 6-8 weeks, but that is part of the game. Can't we just say any player drafted before the 4th, 5th or 6th round, one of them, will automatically be taken out of the free agent pool, no matter what and anyone else is fair game. I just think something has to be written so that the rules that were written and in place before the draft never come into question after draft day

I have not been posting here during the season, but Sizemore was transferred to the 60 day DL today; Now we will see how the insurance works because he is my insured player in AC 2

I also dropped him this past week in my LV Main; IMO, he is toast; if he is not and comes back in July/August, GL to all that bid $500 on him; a waste of FA $$$; a waste of FA $$$ at any price.

Honestly, who's going to bid $500 on him?

He's a power/speed guy that's a batting avg drain and his other counting stats are limited by the crappy team he's on. So a guy who contributes in only two categories has a bad knee....now make that one category.

Add in he's out a minimum of two months.

I see nothing but double digit bids and I think that's overpaying.

That brings up a question, do you have to retain the player on your roster all year to claim the insurance? Thanks.
In the Q&A with the insurance guy on here, he said you only have to draft the player and have him when you take out the policy. Can be dropped/traded, etc.

Scott:

Leave it to LUNY to make this discovery. We share a few teams, this being one of them. Had no interest in reading any of the insurance posts earlier in the year, and I still don't. Didn't even realize we had Sizemore designated. However, now that I know James is either sharp enough or....FRUGAL enough to CATCH this, I'll insist I GET my cut from the big guy. ;)

While I am glad this saga is over the declaration that he has now been made available does nothing for me. Last week someone would have put a big bid on him strentghening my chances for someone else later on... now I am in the same boat.

Waiting to hear he has no value and adding him was not fair.

Anyway tune into the Fantasy Phenoms baseball hour tommorow at 6:00pm as we will discuss this situation and and the many others that came up thru this year.

Please call in to discuss and give opinions. It should be a fantastic show!

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/fantasy-phenoms Word was out on Sizemore before the Sunday night FAAB. I'm certain no one would have made a major bid on him. A buck sounds about right.

Sack, your earlier medical reports were spot on. Sizemore had knee surgery today and is out for the season. Here's the latest report on Rotoworld.com:

Grady Sizemore's knee surgery Friday included a season-ending microfracture procedure, according to the Indians.

Sizemore is expected to need six-to-nine months to recover, so we won't be seeing him again until spring training. Trevor Crowe is filling in at the moment, but Michael Brantley figures to get the call before much longer and is well worth picking up in AL-only leagues.
