ie, that first week when faab was F'd up and starting lineups could not be set before the first couple games started, ALL owners should have been able to set their lineups up until 6.55pm. that way, ALL owners are treated fairly.

the nfbc (and all) contests would be better off without allowing some owners to "hoodwink" the commish office

Rule issues aside, which are clearly debatable, I think its tacky and needy to post that you're quitting.

Is that really someone worth saving?

im not mad cause lyon got a save...seriously...that was a petty comment.

I dont like the fact that he got to keep a guy in a FAAB move that wasnt allowed to go thru and drop a different guy two days later.

Talked to greg..he gave me his reasons..i edited my original post....as the purpose of the first post was to let other players know why i wasnt going to play...as i felt it was an unfair call.

Thinking im upset over one save is pretty laughable.

[/QUOTE]Ok Octane, let me fill you in. Brandon Lyon was saved for the ninth inning today instead of his usually 8th inning spot and Matt Lindstrom was AWOL. Lyon got the save, so now he's possibly WAY,WAY,WAY more valuable than he was yesterday when he was no different than any other backup closer. Check the boxscores Octane and you'll see the Lyon save in case you don't believe me.

But again..greg gave me his reason for the call a little bit ago...hence me first trying to delete the thread...then having to edit the first post..lol.

What happened to erring on the side of caution? Who knows if Bonderman was the guy he meant to drop. Isn't the drop down (in FAAB) in alphabetical order? Bonderman / Jaminiez? Not close. It should have just been canceled. I know this a shocker but I kind of understand where Octane is coming from.

Listen, the pickup wasn't in question on his move. He fairly got Lyon and said he cut the wrong guy. Bonderman seems like a natural cut over Ubaldo, wouldn't you agree? If others had bids in for Lyon and we reversed it then it would have affected more than that one move. But again, the pickup wasn't in question it was the player he cut.

I'm glad you've enjoyed some of your Online Double Play league. I apologize if it hasn't been the experience you expected. If my rulings have caused your departure, then you have little leeway with commissioners I guess. I'm managing 182 leagues and I feel like each decision I've made this year have been thought out and the right ones. But you'd expect any league commish to say that, right?

Good luck the rest of this year and good luck next year in all the leagues you get into. I've answered every question you've asked on my Blackberry immediately and I hope the next league you join the commish does the same.

come on greg. with you being an editor for some of your career, you sure twist the truth in some of your posts. i didn't say i hood winked anyone. i said some owners probably did hoodwink the commish office. just like what could have happened with the ubaldo drop. when the commish of any contest makes decisions based on owners being "honest", don't be surprised when the commish office gets hoodwinked.

I think once it was learned that Ubaldo was dropped in error the whole move should of been nixed.

I'm not sure what point you are bringing up about that first week, but we handled a bad situation as best we could and locked in the correct starting lineups for everyone as soon as we could. If you have an owner who you felt watched the first 2-3 innings of a game and then changed his lineup, post it here or don't make false accusations of what actually happened.

And then if you reward Lyon to the second bidder and keep on going it affects many owners in that league. Again, the pickup wasn't in question it was the cut player and before your post nobody questioned whether Damien meant to cut Bonderman over Jimenez.

But as you said in your email, this post will have a life of its own and you are correct. Trust me, this is just the beginning now that you've got Gekko back on the boards doing his thing.

[/QUOTE]you said yourself that at least two owners switched out padilla. how many switched out lannon? how many switched out other players after the games started? i don't have those numbers, only the commish office could have them. if you are really interested in transparency, please start a thread and post ALL player moves that were APPROVED by the commish office for games that already started. i can see the ones in the leagues i'm in, because i can view the transaction log.

Lyon earned his first save of the season filling in for closer Matt Lindstrom, who sat out Thursday afternoon with lower-back stiffness. The Astros made it known Thursday that resting Lindstrom was simply precautionary, and that he'll be ready for Friday's opener in the Bronx.

Mark, you are so foolish at times. The transaction log is when we were able to make the moves into the system during Week 1, not when the people sent us the emails. I've already stated we had hundreds of emails because the set lineup switched after the FAAB ran. Everyone knows that. People just asked us to reset their lineups and we did and it took until 10:00 CT that night for me, Tom and Geoff to go into each owners' team page, into each league page, each Set Lineup page and do that. So the time log isn't when the owners contacted us, it's when the rosters were finally changed.

I'm not sure what you're saying about two owners and Padilla. You switched him out, but you also did it at 1:12 CT, so only you know what you were thinking. I don't know of anyone else in question, but keep throwing out accusations.

I'm not sure where this is going, but you've sure taken the spotlight off High Octane.

You must really be sore that even though we've saved you hours and hours with the new Free Agent Quick feature that those extra minutes looking at Winning FAAB Bids in alphabetical order are killing you. Sorry, but that feature isn't on my Top 5 list to IT.

i'm not sore, just heard about the mike stanton being shown as carlos marmol in leagues and that was a bummer that i must have glossed over earlier this year. even though i have no interest in stanton, really unbelievable...
