I don't have the FAAB necessary to secure the services of the next wonderkid, Jake Arrieta, however I will let everyone know the kid held his own against a tough, tough Yankees team. I heard his fastabll even touched 96 and 97mph!!! Good luck trying to land this guy 2nite

He did look good. However, with most FAAB exhausted I don't think his bid will be too crazy. 150-225 is my guess.

Pitching in that division, as a rookie, he's not worth a bid at all.

Would consider picking him up during a 2 start week with favorable match-ups.

I think a good rule of thumb this year is to avoid everything Baltimore! How much FAAB to you suppose has been wasted among their closers shuffle alone?

Not to mention the poor return from Markakis, AJones, Wieters, Matusz, BRoberts, etc. Wiggy is the only shining fantasy star on that team.

Man....that has been a fantasy wasteland!

But Arrieta has some great pedigree. Bid away, boys! (and girls, if applicable)

What will Stanton go for? Many will empty the bank on him. I won't simply because of the k rate. I can't afford the hit in the average department.

He's rostered in my league, so I don't have to worry about it. I couldn't afford him anyway, which is probably a popular answer at this time of year.

I think it is a pretty good rule to avoid any player part of a Gekko pump and dump thread

With a crowd of 27,064 in attendance -- including around 16 of Arrieta's family members and friends who flew in from Texas -- the right-hander put on a show. He impressively held the Yankees to three runs on four hits and four walks -- two of which were intentional -- to pick up his first Major League "W" and help the O's snap a 10-game season skid against New York.

An even better game than I thought he had when you consider 2 of the walks were intentional!!! WOW

arrieta is not even worth picking up in 12 team leagues. 15 team leagues, maybe $2 max.
