I see that Chris Carter of the Mets was picked up in a few leagues today. Fanball is listing his position eligibility as "1B/CI." However, I don't believe this is correct. In 2009, Carter played only one game at a position: OUTFIELD. Thus, by rule, Carter should only eligible at OF until he plays 10 games in the majors this year at another position.
Obviously this could present some problems if people picked up Carter with the sole intention of playing him at 1B or corner.
Greg/Tom, please advise.

Greg/Tom, please advise. Were his most games played in the minors in 2009 at 1B and that's why the system gave him 1B eligibility? I don't have that data in front of me, other than the one game played in the OF with the Red Sox in 2009. Let me look this one over closely.

Chris C. Carter, NYM -- 1B or OF?????
Carter's eligibility has been changed to OF on all rosters and we have contacted the 15 owners who picked him up via FAAB this week to let them know of the change. We have all of their conditional bids in front of us and have run through all of the scenarios so that if they don't want Carter as an OF-only we can still run their remaining conditional bids. None of those 15 pickups would affect another owner in those leagues, which works out nicely. So we'll have to handle these 15 teams, but otherwise we'll be good to go.
Sorry about the eligibility miscue, but that one game last year set Carter's eligibility for 2010 according to our rules and it should have been OF-only. Thanks all.

Don't forget you are the proud owner of Chris Carter amd you had him in your lineup last week.

Except Greg thought that he was playing WR3.
FWIW, Carter has played much more outfield in the minors since 2007 so even if he did not play 1 game in the OF in Boston, OF would have been his eligibility based just on minor league games.
To confuse matters, the OTHER Chris Carter (Oakland) would be eligible at 1B based on minor league numbers but is now dabbling in the OF.
