Actually, I think the Royals CAN be good.
But, not with Moore's lack of direction in putting together a viable team.

But, not with Moore's lack of direction in putting together a viable team. Pretty obvious that you prefer more of a quick fix than I do. There are different ways to build a winner. I think the way he is doing it is the correct one for the future of the franchise and having consistently good products on the field for years to come. Quick fix would not have made them good overnight. No way, no how in my opinion. So while mistakes were made, they didn't really matter all that much as far as building a contender is concerned. They are mistakes he cannot be making when the new waive is all in place though. And that waive far closer to being here than I think you realize.

KC and Pitt. Have to build through the draft. That takes 5 to 6 years and that is why they are not fired.
KC may have the best farm system in baseball.
Pitt. may have helped themselves more then any other club in baseball with a great draft, and international signing this season. All high ceiling impact type player's.
The GM's that should be fired at this point is the Cubs Jim Hendry and the Mets Omar Minaya. This guy clearly gets it. Good post.
You clearly do not. It takes both building a system and making good moves at the major league level. Signing some of the worst players at their positions to multi year contracts is just stupid.
Actually I do get it. And I also said some moves were stupid if you know how to read. But obviously you don't have a clue what their farm system was like when he took over and what it is like now. If you did, you would understand my point. Not all that complicated really. Royals were going nowhere the last few years, so restocking the farm system was far more important than some bad big league decisionmaking for the long term potential of the franchise. Again not complicated, and it is clear you are the one that doesn't get it.
I have been accused of a lot of things around here but you may be the first to accuse me of not knowing baseball or business. I could continue to debate you and attempt to make a fool of you or sit back and allow you to do it yourself. You are off to such a good start I will just sit back and enjoy.

No quick fixes for me.
It isn't possible in the Royals case.
What they need are some players that will help these wonderlings. By the time they get here, Kendall will be gone, a wasted signing.
I wouldn't want them around Betancourt....or Fields...or probably the next deadbeat that Moore trades for.
The Royals need some feisty middle of the road players that can entertain fans as well as 'tutor' the kids. Moore has not looked at that element.
My case against Moore should be re-tried in this thread over the coming years. His contract runs through 2014. By that time, you should be saying "Uncle"

You could attempt to make a fool of me all you want. But it could end up being a bumpy road for you. And the exact opposite might happen. So you are probably smart to take a step back. You self admittedly are washed up and need a break. You probably should do that and come back when you are thinking more clearly.

Fair points. And even if they dont end up being winners by then, does not mean someone else would have been able to get it done. As he has at least got players coming. Nobody could have done much better doing that. So the fact they may not be a winner by 2014 will not necessarily having me saying uncle if the foundation is in place by then. All depends on how the prospects pan out. Nobody knows the answer yet. Will be fun to monitor though.
