Site Enhancements

Funny, usually the only time I see the word 'enhancement' is spam e-mail.

Anyway, some suggestions for a 'tidier' site.

All names in the 'drop' section of FAAB should be alphabeticized by last name, not first name.

The default that we should see upon opening free agents should be all hitters or dh, not catchers.

Every Monday and Friday, our roster should carry a reminder of the first game's time that day.

Our roster should be alphabeticized.

For instance, outfielders, a-z, pitchers, a-z, bench...

Even after the deadline has passed, THIS weeks roster should remain up. This way we could look at matchups for the coming games.

There also should be an option to see next weeks games.

We should be able to scroll over the opposing team matchup on that roster to view the probable opposing pitcher.

Click on any player and see which team in our league owns that player.

See other players rosters in our league with their matchups, not just their names.

I thought there was a few more. I don't have alzheimers, but I do have 'someteimers' so I may add more later.

Others, feel free to add some of the little things that can make the site a better place.

Live scoring for the overall standings and sorting of categories in live scoring would both be enhancements.

The return of lifetime standings would be nice.

Team stats for the last 7 days, 14 days, 21 days, etc. is a must.

A player search that tells you what fantasy team owns the player and when he was picked up, dropped, etc. would be helpful.

The ability to set lineups immediately after the FAAB results would be a huge time savings.

Though not a necessity by any stretch, I find it odd that the NFBC & NFFC are the only fantasy sites where you can't add a logo. Even Fanball's commissioner software allows that.

Software being made more compatible with IE would be probably the biggest enhancement that would be the most beneficial to the most people.

Overall, lots of improvement from day one to today in the software. Keep up the good work.

The IE issue with the fanball techs is what finally killed it for me! I laid out over 4 grand to play these games this year. Than the fanball techs come out and say use our selected browers??? Sorry IE doesn't conform to what we've decided should be the program???? I've enjoyed the NFBC for many years. The Fanball Techs killed it for me! Greg is right that I use to complain about Stats. How the heck could I have known how bad it could really get!!!! Fanball or whoever is above please dump these guys! Fire them now! Basketball yeah theres a money maker! We wouldn't want to spend that time fixing the Baseball site.

1. Data reconciliation across all reports. Example, this year the YTD fantasy totals for my team were different when I pulled them up for my team only vs when I pulled them up for all teams in the league. The error exists in the YTD computation for all teams pullup.

2. I would appreciate the capability to input the start and end dates (i.e., customized time periods)when computing both MLB and fantasy stats. Example, I want to see how my team played between May 15 and August 31.

3. Any data element that you are receiving from the official MLB source and presenting on a screen should have sorting capability.
I feel like I'm the Jerry Quarry of the NFBC.

Keep the suggestions coming and I'll make a To-Do list for the IT department. I talked with them yesterday about our Slow Draft software and they were very receptive to the suggestions. My goal is to make that the best Slow Draft software in the industry because I really believe we can grow that area of the market. I think we can have fun there and maybe even create a national contest if things fall into place. We'll see.

But I am very confident that we have the back-end software in place to have a great 2011 season. A lot of things worked very well after the rough start and the suggestions mentioned in this thread to improve on that site are certainly realistic. Remember, this is OUR site, so let's improve it together. I like many of the suggestions so far. Thanks and keep 'em coming.

I'm not sure this is something you can fix, but both CBSSportsline and ESPN have current news about plays available next to the player on the set lineup page. I find that I need to go to these other sites to see if there is a last minute injury before I set my lineup (or make FA bid). You do have news updates if you click thru to the player, but clicking each player takes awhile. How about a column on the set lineup page (and the FA page) showing the date of the last news item for that player. That way if there is a recent update, I'll know to click on the player to read it.

agreed with most of what was said. We should compile a complete list and try to rank H, M, or L so that Greg hss not just a list, but a prioritized list

One I didn't see above was the Pick Up Free Agent on the player profile page

Some items I rate High:

1. Speed

2. IE friendly

3. Sortable Real Time results

4. Pick Up FA button

If #1 addressed, then rate Changing default from Catcher on FAAB to Low, if not, then high

Maybe it is just me but I would like to see the score of the game besides what inning it is in under live scoring. For example, if you look at live scoring and see your pitcher is in the 5th inning and has given up 2 runs so far, I would like to be able to see on the same page that his team is winning 5-2 or losing 2-0.
