Jupinka wins $100,000!!

Post by Terry H » Mon Oct 04, 2010 5:06 am

I was in Lindy's league last year and didn't think I'd ever see a better season than that, as he seemed to have a magic touch. I can't imagine how you could have a better season than that.

A good guy on the message boards and a good guy in person. I'm glad I got the opportunity to meet you this year, congratulations on a truly amazing season Steve.

Oh and good luck at avoiding 'the champions curse' next year. ;)

Great job Steve and CONGRATS! Greg thanks for the mention but actually Lindy's percentage last year was 88.67%

Folks, this is a record-breaking season for Steve and his Quahogs team. He won Las Vegas League 5 with 144.5 points, a record for any main event league. Drafting out of the 12th spot, Quahogs led LV 5 in Runs, Batting Average, Steals, ERA and WHIP, while finishing second in RBI, Home Runs (tied for 2nd), Wins, Strikeouts and Saves. Just a dominating, dominating performance.

144.5. That record might stand awhile.

Congratulations Steve! :D

In my limited stint in baseball, you have proven to be one of (if not) the best players each year!!!

Congrats Steve, truly very deserving. Although I've never competed against Gekko in my 4 years of NFBC play, I've had the unfortunate luck of drawing 2 main event leagues with Steve. He's every bit the player he is the person, a great guy and fantastic player.

Great job...beer's on you!!

Thanks everyone for the kind congrats. The high stakes community is very unique. Highly competitive yet very supportive. Winning the $ is a reward unto itself but the accolades from all I respect a great deal rank pretty high up there on my list.

Ok, sap talk over. Back to the party :D

Great job Steve and CONGRATS! Not sure the above math is right Greg, but Q's still is the best on record.

Here is what I have for the top 5 main event finishes as measured by pct of points above that season's average:

1 S Jupinka 2010 +80%

2 L Hinkleman 2009 +77%

3 K Schiller 2009 +74%

4 T Haney 2007 +73%

5 S Childs 2009 +72%
