Yeah, I had to run. Did 4 drafts in 3 days in two different cities across the country. Couldn't wait for ya, had to run. Caught alot of hell from the Mrs. this week-end.

Admittingly, I'm not very good in football. I did the NFFC main event last year but this year I'll prolly just do the $650 auction in Chicago.

Looks pretty consistent to me. I think if P's were going to figure him out, they would have done it last year. Even if he drops to .270 I'll still take the 40 sb's and 100 runs. [/QB]
I really doubt he'll get 40sb's and 100 runs.

Kennedy is ahead of schedule and due back May 1-15.

Figgins at 3B is a huge def liabilty as shown in the playoffs last year. Quinlan gets the job before him with better glove and more power. And Mac Pherson is clearly #1 when healthy. Not much OF time this year with GA, Fin, and Vlad with DaVannon and Rivera as backups.

Just a gut feeling that he's going to pull a Posednik this year on the avg.

Hey Mike

NY#5 Pick 13

Thanks for input

Think you are right about Soriano being key but thats usually the case with your #1 pick Same for you with Randy Like your starting pitching Very strong Think you lack a bit of pop Konerko Chavez are good for 30 plus but then drop off but you seem to be solid Chris Capuano might be my key He is my second cousin so I had to draft him Great stuff but health issues like everyone else has. I think we were in same league last year you were the NY Yankees Injuries kind of hurt you last year I was the 1 with laryngytus Still can not speak but now haze an excuse if my teams falls down LOL Good Luck to you

Wow, if nydownunder plans to be in the top 3rd with that pitching his system must be amazing!
BJoak

Was that a complement or putdown?

Anyway, KJ is the one that mentioned #3, but he meant in my own league. My numbers give me the follwoing when using Byrd at #7 over Robertson (7 SP's and 2 RP's)

Wins Saves K ERA WHIP TOTAL

15.0 7.3 11.4 11.2 12.3 57

Batting

Runs HR RBI SB AVG TOTAL

10.7 11.5 11.6 6.9 12.7 53

I'd much rather be short in Saves and SB's than any other categories.

I understand the concept of protecting your ERA and WHIP with vacant roster spots, so I guess leaving those hitter spots vacant will improve your team BA. (I did that with C #2)

I also understand that your shorts may have been a little too tight and crushed your balls - NOMAR number 17 overall? I am thinking you will find that in the average draft he would have been available as your fourth rounder.

All,

First of all, thanks in advance for thoughts and projections. RT and I would love your input!! I am hoping NYDownunder and KJ aren't tired of running these!

Dvys, great team, scary you can field a good team with Bonds / Prior on the bench!

We were in LV league #6, pick 10:

Offense:

C: B. Molina / B. Ausmus (not a strength)

1B: Sexson

2B: B. Boone

3B: Freel

SS: Guzman

OF: Abreu (1st pick)

OF: Suzuki (2nd)

OF: Edmonds (3rd)

OF: Sosa

OF: Berkman

1b/3b: Adam LaRouche

SS/2b: Womack

Util: David Roberts

Bench:

1b - Hatteberg

OF - Payton

3b/of - Mabry (hoping he will get catcher avail)

Pitching:

SP:

K. Wood

Lieber

K. Brown

Bonderman

Milton

Greinke

Capuano

Lowry, Noah

CL:

Rivera (4th)

Mesa

MR

Salmon Torres

Brazoban, Yhancy

Tim Worrell

Self assessment: A bit high on the speed front, but maybe that will help in the overall - plus, we can always sit someone and put in an emerging power hitter. Closers are a bit light, but hopefully we can add to that through Worrell or others....

Gordon: Curious what you think - of course I picked my team so I like it better than yours

Chone is definately a gut feeling type of pick. And you are correct that playing time might drop some. Ana may have the best OF backups in baseball. Maybe that's why I covered myself later in the draft with Sanchez and Gathright.

Still, that .240 ave projection seems too much of a drop.

He may have a better year than Tejada. He has a lot to prove and is playing for a contract.

.238 is the low point...

even if he lives up to fair projections, some of the 6th round picks I saw were too high...

Thanks in advance!! I don't have the sophisticaed system of NYDown under but I would say the following: Offense is light, in addition very dependent on young guys who are high risk. Starting pitching starts off great, but glavine, etc.. are risky. Closers are fantastic, no issues there.

He fellas. Heres my squad. I was pick 15 in NY 1.

C V Martinez

C K Hill / Ojeda

1B Sweeney

3B C Jones

CI Crede / Alfonso / Choi

2B Belhorn

SS Garciaparra

MI T Walker / Burke

OF V Wells

OF L Walker

OF J Jones

OF Sanchez / T Nixon / Hollandsworth

UT Hafner

P Schmidt

P Willis

P Penny

P Marquis

P Ra Ortiz

P El Duque

P B.J. Ryan

P Mota

and hurry back W Miller

I was a little short on speed, so coming home from the draft and finding Sancez had a job was huge. He should make a nice platoon with Nixon.
