Rate your Draft, Quest for $100,000

Post by Spyhunter » Tue Mar 22, 2005 5:47 am

Hi there - good to see you again Piggy - I guess I know your screen name now. this is Chris, your friendly #10 picker to the right of you. Personally, I think our teams rock over the rest of league 6, though if I remember correctly there were 1 or 2 other good ones.

For fun, I ran our teams using the Mastersball $$ projections and you came out with $240 and I with $280. Almost all the difference was in speed, with me having like $37 more in output there.

Good job on the draft, I hope we are battling for 1st place And I am still mad about BJ getting taken!!

GCA - Where did you get NOMAR? He went #17 in my draft. To one of the(IMO)50 contenders, and I only snaked him once (with a player I didn't want - I got the wrong NY catcher - they both started with P).

Greenlight - You drafted in my League - so you suck. I would like to say that you never took a player in your turn around that I wanted to slip. But I am sure somewhere while filling out our reserves you grabbed somebody I wanted.

PS I intend it all in fun.

Agreed! very slow day at work so I am able to do some postings. Can you rate my team with your system?? Also, is yours posted here? I only tracked my team and Dohn's (piggy #9).

And didn't our side of the draft table kick the butt of the other side? I thought it was pretty amazing

Marty, some of your picks I really liked, including Cabrera in round 2, Podsednik to lock in steals even though it was a bit high, Sean Casey was probably a high value pick, Burrell as an upside home run pick. Josh Phelps is a solid late sleeper pick with power.

Beckett and Burnett are an excellent foundation of any pitching staff. Halladay is an X-factor -- could give you three top starters. Lots of people like Brandon Webb. Lowry and Capuano are guys with upside that may help a lot.

Wickman is backed up by Riske, but not sure he's the guy if Wickman falters. The guy who has Billy Wagner is probably upset you picked Tim Worrell.

Overall, you appear to have a solid team.

I think you're a bit weak at catcher, as I'm not as impressed with Brandon Inge as some others, and Bengie Molina has trouble staying healthy. In Burrell, Griffey, Ibanez, and Dye, you have a fair amount of risk/reward, but you may want to think about OF depth on your reserve roster. However, nice things have been written about all four players this spring.

You have a very strong 2b/ss combination, obviously, and Adam Everett has some upside speed.

Chris Without a doubt Chris, one or two teams on the other side were OK, but several were just shocking. I dreaded when it snaked back because I would see quality guys slipping further and further and then 9-12 would grab them right in front of me.

Is the #11 slot from LV-6 here? That's the guy that really screwed up my plan.

Nope, I don't think so, but when you are back, My team is posted on page 11 of this post.

There was a tough set of pickers at 9-11 in league 6, made it hard for anything to fall too far...

Do they post the draft order as well??? I really hope so, would love to analyze my draft.

If anyone has a tracking of the draft order in LV league 6 that would be awesome

KLN--Luv da CI group ya gotz, I do worry bout your SP outside of your top 2-3 alot...could be WHIP killerz...Laird prolly startz in AAA don't ya think? Not many have a good #2 C so dat won't hurt dat much though...I am a huge Jimenez fan and expect big thingz from him dis year so I see him as a great pick...luv da Putz pick too, I would be surprised if he doez not end up with 10 savez during a DL stint or two out of Eddie G...I worry alot about Bayz injury... Luv da Podz/Sosa duo, but their combined AVG will take itz toll me thinkz...Tavaraz could be a gem if he panz out...

thanks piggy. just probably dont know at this point. i guess jordan or taveras can take bay's spot to start but i dont need to miss too much time. probably keep releivers in all the time and try to find quality starts with my sp. dont know about laird but i think he splits with barajas.

about taveras who does houston have to play outfield. if biggio plays 2b, then lane and taveras in outfield, whose the other outfielder.

dougs allstars how can you not like BRANDON INGE.HE'S GOING TO EASILY get 500 at bats .He's my sleeper catcher , if you can even call him a sleeper. I EXPECT 270 TO 290 18 HOMERS AND 90 RBI'S.Remember this prediction. This has nothing to do with me buying INGE For 10 bucks at the new york auction. A STEAL
