NFBC Prize Payment Update and Timeline

I sent out an email to four bankers wanting to park 2 million dollars and the best rate I have gotten back .7 percent.

So assuming Fanball is getting similar rates and holding 1 million dollars in total prizes they are netting themselves an extra 135 bucks a week doing it. Not even Ryan E Houston makes decisions over 135 bucks a week. Chesty- the appropriate rate is not what they can park the $1M for, but the rate for which they would have to borrow the $1M. Figure 6% at best. Hopefully that is still peanuts.

I can guarantee you that Fanball is making more than .7% interest on the money. Since salaries, etc need to be paid out, I'm also sure they don't have $1M sitting in the bank either. But what is there, is paying more than .7%.

Just got home (Wednesday)and no payment information in my account. I did get my New York State paycheck today, and NY is broke.
you are correct Neal- I was trying to keep it simple although in Ryan's asset light world you would have a terribly hard time getting money that cheap.

Hey Christie, mail from Jersey to Rochester is even slower than you KEN imagine. Better ADD a few months to your wait....... ;)

Hopefully, you cashed in on one of those hundreds of slow drafts you participated in this season.

THANKS FANBALL FOR "ALLOWING" US TO CLAIM OUR PRIZES.

Now the screen says checks will be sent in 2 to 4 weeks, which means they'll be sent Nov 19th at the earliest and Dec 3rd at the latest. Anything you can do to expedite payment is appreciated.

Don't you think an email to all the NFBC players telling them they can NOW claim their prizes might be nice. I happen to be on the Message Board as I am in a Mock Draft but would not know otherwise.

Now with LaRussa, Duncan, and McGwire running the show, it leaves town via clydesdale

Yes, an email should be going out to let you know about this. I think the guys in St. Louis were eager to get this live for everyone and either an email is going out now or will be first thing tomorrow. Heck, I found out this was live from Jeff Dobies!! Glad to see we got this live today as we had promised. Now get this done on your part ASAP and claim your prizes.

An email to all winners and all NFBC members will be going out tomorrow at the latest, I promise. Thanks for your patience everyone and good job guys in St. Louis.

Geez, we're doing all we can to get this all done. We went live the first week of November as promised. Claim your prize already. Hopefully checks go out sooner than we're estimating. Geez, we're working hard and I think most people understand that. All Fanball winners can now claim their prizes and checks will start to go out as soon as we can get them started.

One more point, after claiming my prize, I usually received the check within one week; that was before Fanball took over NFBC; it was QUICK

my posts (and most people posting about "Fanball" on these boards) are really directed toward Fanball Headquarters (HQ).

as i've repeatedly said, you, tom and geoff are fantastic. hopefully some of your good qualities will rub off on some of the fanball workers at HQ

I'm still laughing over 'claiming my prizes'.

Sort of like the audience participation portion of our show.
Mark, Tom and I and Geoff ARE FANBALL. We're all part of the same team. And when Fanball said they were going to have the Claim Prizes link up the first week of November they came through. Again, if you didn't like that date, go off, but it's the date we stated and it's now live.

Now let us get the payments out and either praise us or kill us over that time table. But speculating how long that process is going to work is a waste of time. I think some checks will get out quicker than you think, or quicker than you are stating here. Hopefully you'll acknowledge that when your check arrives.

Thanks again to all. I think Ryan and everyone involved has done a great job getting all prize winners set up and payments ready to go. We'll hit you over the head via email going forward to claim your prizes and make sure you get paid ASAP. Then you can start thinking about 2011 NFBC.
