you use a 75/75 blue print. i have no interest in employing that. you may have had success using it, but when more owners are trying it (due to you), that leaves you at a disadvantage moving forward (even if it is a small one). this game is too tough to give away an edge.
[/QUOTE]Players know my plan, but they don't know how I'm trying to reach my goals as I don't do many drafts between January and March.

Congrats Steve, impressive does not begin to cover your NFBC record. If you decide you have accomplished all you can in the NFBC and want to retire on top like Jim Brown there will be no tears shed here!! :) Just kidding of course. Looking forward to competing against you next year, again. (Not sure if competing is the right word!).

Jeff Thanks Jeff...yes we do seem to lock horns a lot. Could be that you seem to ______enter_______everything ;) Great win in the Auction Championship again. I was real happy to see you take home that top prize. You deserved that one.

Steve,

A belated Congratulations on your incredible accomplishment. The NFBC could not have asked for a better King for a year! I will be in Vegas for the first Main Event Weekend in '11. I hope you are too as I would enjoying meeting you - I just hope you aren't in my league! :D

So just how do you win $100,000 in the NFBC? Well, the key is to hit on a high number of your draft spots and then make great in-season pickups. Stephen Jupinka is already known as one of THE VERY BEST in-season managers, but last year he also hit on a vast majority of his draft picks to win the $100,000 grand prize. Just for fun I thought I'd look over his draft again today and was surprised by how many big hits he had. Here's his 30 picks from Draft Day in Las Vegas League 5:

1. Ryan Howard

2. Matt Holliday

3. Derek Jeter

4. Nelson Cruz

5. Ubaldo Jimenez

6. Billy Butler

7. Matt Cain

8. Alex Rios

9. Asdrubal Cabrera

10. Francisco Rodriguez

11. Jorge De La Rosa

12. Martin Prado

13. Brad Lidge

14. Colby Rasmus

15. David Price

16. Troy Glaus

17. Lastings Milledge

18. J.A. Happ

19. Jeff Francouer

20. Scott Podsednik

21. Homer Bailey

22. Colby Lewis

23. Miguel Olivo

24. Seth Smith

25. Vicente Padilla

26. J.R. Towles

27. Tony Gwynn

28. Kris Medlen

29. Mike Aviles

30. Matt Harrison

I know I put these numbers on another thread, but we might as well consolidate everything on this thread. Here are his unreal numbers from last year:

Folks, this is a record-breaking season for Steve and his Quahogs team. He won Las Vegas League 5 with 144.5 points, a record for any main event league. Drafting out of the 12th spot, Quahogs led LV 5 in Runs, Batting Average, Steals, ERA and WHIP, while finishing second in RBI, Home Runs (tied for 2nd), Wins, Strikeouts and Saves. Just a dominating, dominating performance.

144.5. That record might stand awhile.

He also set a new NFBC record in total points earned, finishing with 3,925.5 points. That was 90.24 percent of the available points, the highest percentage ever earned by an overall champion.

Great job Steve and CONGRATS!

Matt Thank you Matt. Appreciate the kind words. It looks like a 2nd yr in Vegas for me but the 2nd weekend though. Hey, extend your stay ;)

Good job from another one of the top players of this game. Enjoy the $$$.

One other comment, everyone who has the extra money to play this game has been blessed in the game of life. Consider giving a few bucks of your winnings to a charity or two. It's called "good karma".
