Thanks Fanball!!!!
i got the same email (although with a different name and amount).
Thanks Fanball!!!!
I'm guessing that it automatically selects the day after claiming the prize as the day the check was sent.
By the same token, I don't think they mean the literal check in the mail, merely the process of getting out the checks.
Seven to 10 days from the 'claim prize' date would be a better estimate instead of tomorrow.
I hope you're right and I am wrong.

I hope you're right and I am wrong. Checks did go out on Thursday and again on Friday. I believe that more than half of all winning totals were claimed immediately and dispersed. Yeah, feel free to post when you get the checks so that we can all feel good about the process. Not only that, then maybe Mark can post about something else.
It's okay to be wrong sometimes Dan. You can't always be right.

Checks DID go out on thursday and friday??? that's fantastic. i know you were in arizona, but i'm sure everyone would have appreciated a post or email from someone at Fanball saying that actually happened. silly me for thinking that.
and ya, i wish i could post about something else too. now that i know fanball's payment timetable, it's on me whether i want to continue playing. can't gripe next year if i know that coming in

Mark, You are a good guy and a great player, why taint that by being the guy whining for his check? Its not like they are running away with your money. The beauty of fantasy baseball is being victorious, which you were. Why not be the guy sitting back and acting like he did it for the fun (even if you secretly cant wait for the check)? Think to yourself, if STeve McQueen played fantasy baseball, how would he handle it if he won?

Think to yourself, if STeve McQueen played fantasy baseball, how would he handle it if he won? See, I view fantasy baseball differently. It's business first, fun second (and a distant second at that). I believe my approach is one of the reasons I've experienced some success.
As for tainting anything, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have always blazed my own trail and will continue to do so when I deem it necessary.
As for the character reference, I'm much more of a Gordon Gekko than a Steve McQueen.
In any event, people from the midwest, east coast and west coast (Cali) have received their checks already. Even if I don't receive mine until some time later this week, it's all good. It's well before my Thanksgiving deadline.

C'mon man, it's obvious that the checks went out IMMEDIATELY from St. Louis and people all over the country are getting their checks. I'm not sure why you need to keep drawing attention to yourself....no, never mind I said that. I do know why.
You are beyond blazing a trail here. You've actually left a lot of poop along the way. We've worked hard to get payments out, get the payment process automated and get out more than $1.3 million in prizes. Yet there you are with your updates. Please tell the world when you've finally received your winnings. We're all waiting with baited breath to hear.
Congrats to all the winners who have received their checks. You've EARNED them. Now let's do it again in 2011.

If I drew attention to myself for calling out Fanball during the season or for wondering when payment would be made or where payment is, EXCUSE ME.
As for you thinking I need attention. As soon as I receive my check, I'll vacate the message boards until sometime in 2011.

The day that researching stats, crunching numbers, following news updates etc etc is no longer fun, then yes fantasy baseball becomes more business/work. I've had plenty of success the last 2 years in fantasy baseball/NFBC and "fun" will never be a distant second.
On the topic of getting paid, I received an email from Ryan saying that my check has been processed and I should expect it in 7 to 10 days. All good.

One of the best lines I heard while attending ShandlerFest in Phoenix this past weekend (and no, it wasn't from Greg):
"Mark Srebo is a good guy. Gordon Gekko is a real as*hole".
Please, USPS, please get him his damned check so he can leave us alone for the next few months...
