More RBIs v. severely reduced SBO I'm not sure why they'd move Rios from the third spot as he was highly successful there all last year. This is still a very formidable lineup with Rios-Dunn-Konerko in the 3-4-5 slots. I wouldn't mess with that. Heck, he had 48 stolen base attempts from the 3 hole and was successful 34 times. Keep that going Ozzie.

But even if they do move him to the fifth spot I wouldn't speculate on a decreased value at this point. Does he come up with more run-producing opportunities? Will he get more RBIs and fewer SBs? Or will the bases be cleared and he still runs after he gets on base?

Tough to predict, but I'm predicting he stays in the 3 hole. ;)

Very satisfying. It's so damn cold here right now if we found a sheep we'd skin it and use the wool for gloves. Sex wouldn't even be a consideration. ;)

Good thing we're not playing this game today. It's going to be -8 tonight here with wind chills -25 to -30. Tomorrow isn't supposed to be much better. I hope it gets up to 17 on Sunday in Chicago like they say because right now that would be a heat wave. Unreal how cold it is.

Packer-Bears Jack. It doesn't get any better than that. :D Where's Bauler -- Da Bears -- when I need him? I know EXACTLY which Urlacher jersey he's wearing right now. ;)

It doesn't get better than that. It has been great here in Chicago with the game buildup.

I'm also struggling to justify where B.J. Upton is going. I understand the upside and the SB potential, but Shawn and I still have rug burns from his .237 average last year in LABR. I don't feel like buying potential anymore.

Some pitchers are going lower than I'd expect. I think closers like Joe Nathan and Brad Lidge look like real bargains to me. Gallardo looks like a SP bargain where he's going now. But predicting anything from pitchers is a bad way to make a living, so maybe I should stop now. ;)

I think Ellsbury's role is the full-time leadoff hitter, as long as he can stay healthy.

Sale or Thornton

Is it a good idea to get both just in case? Good question and I was looking at their ADPs this morning on the Slow Drafts. Thornton is definitely going ahead of Sale in the Slow Drafts, but not by much. I think Thornton could start out as the closer, but there's a reason this 34-year-old has never been a full-time closer. Sale has the best potential if they leave him in the bullpen.

Look for Sale to start out the season behind Thornton, but his potential is great. During his brief time in Chicago last yar, he struck out 32 batters in 23.1 IP and held batters to a .185 average. He was 4-for-4 in save opportunities and seems to be a great upside pick right now. He's also just 21 and not overwhelmed by the big stage.

Thornton also put up good numbers and is ready to take over this job for Jenks. I'm not sure I can remember the last team with two lefty closers, but these two are unique.

I think it will be tough to get both because both are going in the same area later in the draft. One of these guys is going to pay off this season; determining which one it will be is your job. ;)
[/QUOTE]What about the Nasty Boys? They had three closers but two were lefties. Myers and Charlton.

Great news and perfect timing. Glad we got to hear this now rather than later! You two have done a wonderful job keeping us informed and positive!

If you are still awnsering questions tommorrow. What are the stats needed to be first in a league in the NFBC classic and auction leagues?

Thanks and enjoy your night!

Sorry that I haven't had a live chat in a bit, but I promise to do one this week. Now that my beloved Green Bay Packers have returned the Lombardi Trophy to its rightful place, the world can continue again!! :D What a fun, fun ride these last 6-7 weeks have been. WOW.

I am waiting to officially announce the future of the NFBC, but we can't do it at this point. Hopefully we'll have this done soon so that everyone can understand what will be taking place now and in the future. But all is good and we are headed to a very good landing, so hang in there with us. Everything is in place for a seamless move and I really think this upcoming season is going to be very smooth and very solid.

I have something to do tomorrow, but let's plan for a baseball-full Live Chat on Wednesday at the latest. Sound good? We all need to start talking some baseball and this will be a good kickoff before next week's Slow Drafts. Thanks all.
