Here's The Latest On Slow Drafts

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Jan 27, 2011 3:22 am

Okay, I apologize that we haven't been able to start any Slow Drafts in the last three weeks, but it looks like we'll have five full leagues ready to go shortly and those 70+ people are anxiously awaiting the green light for these. Here's the latest update and I'll update this thread continuously as I learn more:

** We can't do anything until a final deal is done on the future of the NFBC. I feel very confident that everything will be finalized soon and in a very good manner for us, the customers and the contest. But legally we're not finished yet.

** Once we do get that part resolved, we'll need to get all of the usernames and passwords for all NFBC customers and transfer those to our new software. We want all of you to keep your same logins, but it will take a little bit of time to have those transferred one more time.

** When we do get all of that done, we'll need everyone to register again into that new site for these Slow Drafts and get all leagues formed. Tom and I can help to speed up that process, but it will need to be done to get everyone set up. The same procedure will be needed for every other signup to date.

** We are building out an NFBC draft room right now and it is being tested fully. Position eligibility is being matched to NFBC standards and minor-leaguers will be added too. This will be done in plenty of time to get drafts started next week, but the above items need to be checked off first.

** Let's set a KDS deadline of noon CST on Monday for all of these full Slow Drafts. Set your KDS on your current team page and officially get signed up if you can do that. Sign up under $150 Draft Champions or $375 Draft Champions. If you can't do that, you can email me at [email protected], but I'd rather you just set your KDS online. We'll then announce draft picks shortly after that and be ready to go as soon as the other items above are done. With any luck, we'll be drafting well before the Super Bowl, so be ready.

** Payments will have to be run before we draft, so have a valid credit card when you sign up. Thanks.

That should do it. The drafts will be held with our new back-end partner on their software and all results will immediately go into your team pages. Past Slow Drafts will be transferred from Fanball to our new provider. The game software is not new, it is formatted perfectly for NFBC and NFFC, is familiar to most of our users and I know you're going to like this partner. We now have the opportunity to work together to make it the best in the industry and a setup that has as many of the features you want as we can provide. I'm very excited about this aspect of the plan.

I hope this helps. We're all still kind of in a waiting pattern, but it beats the alternative of not being in flight at all!! :D Hang in there with me for a little bit and you'll like the soft landing we have planned. Everything is in place now for what is sure to be a historic and very successful 2011 NFBC season.
