NFBC Payment Plans and Registration

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Feb 11, 2011 2:49 am

Folks, we have a much clearer time-line today for everything and I wanted to bring everyone up to speed on the payments for this year's leagues since we originally posted that credit cards would start to be hit on Feb. 15th. That is not going to be the case now, but we'll get all of this rolling shortly.

Also, our Registration page is now temporarily disabled and we likely won't be taking official signups until Saturday, Feb. 19th. However, you can secure a spot in any event or contest by posting on the message boards or by emailing Tom at tkessenich@fanball or me at [email protected]. Those emails will be active through Feb. 18th.

Also, I am getting emails from owners who paid for December Slow Drafts and are seeing credits back on their credit cards. If you participated in an earlier Slow Draft and were charged for it, please check your cc statements because it looks like that is how Fanball is refunding those payments. I believe 75 owners participated and paid, and all will be refunded. We will then get you signed up on the new NFBC web site in another week or so and get those leagues fully loaded and ready to go.

Okay, here's the quick plan for payments:

** Everyone who is signed up for NFBC events now through our Fanball site will need to get registered on the new web site starting on Feb. 19th. All of your current logins will remain intact and will be transferred to STATS. So no worries there. We will get you set up there with the same username and password and either enter your events for you or ask each of you to sign up again. Either way, we'll need credit card information again and we'll work individually with everyone to make sure we have the Special Packages discounts in place.

** Since it will take a full week to get everyone back in the system, let's shoot for Monday, Feb. 28th to start charging credit cards. I'll know by then if we'll have an insurance plan in place for those folks paying by check, too. So plan on the 28th to begin payments either via cc or check.

** Special Packages discounts will run through Feb. 28th if you do multiple events. The same discounts that are on the home page will be intact through Feb. 28th, not Jan. 15th. They will end, however, at that time, so make your decisions early here.

** STATS will be doing all of the credit card charges and will be processing payments and winning checks. More details on that to come soon, but just understand that the cc payment will show the National Fantasy Baseball Championship but will be processed by STATS. Also, checks will be sent to STATS Inc in c/o The National Fantasy Baseball Championship and we'll give you more details there after next week.

** Past NFBC and NFFC history will be transferred to STATS late next week, but it will take some time to get those Archived Teams on your team pages. Our entire focus is on this year's games, so don't panic if those Archived Teams and historical results don't start showing up until after the season starts. We have a lot of data to transfer and a lot of work to do in the next two months.

Again, this process has a chance to be seamless because all of the data is being sent back to STATS, who already has the first six years of data and who already has the back-end system in place. But it still takes time and we still have some work to do. The draft room is being provided by STATS and finalized now, so stay tuned for more details there. Online drafts are still set to go as previously planned.

The wheels are moving forward as you can see and I just wanted everyone to know that payments won't be charged next week but in two weeks instead. Keep making your plans for 2011 NFBC, get your travels set and make sure your Cheat Sheets are ready. Five weeks from today our first live drafts begin, so the season is almost here. Let's all be ready for what should be a historic season. Thanks all for your patience and let's PLAY BALL!!

Greg, good stuff. If we need to adjust a league or previous registration, are we going to be able to address that on Feb 19th on an individual basis when we re-register, or would you advise an email to either you or Tom? If so, would both of those emails remain the same with the fanball.com address?

He will be handling all new signups and all signup changes through next week for the NFBC. His email will be good through the 18th, while my email after today will be [email protected]. Thanks all.

Does this mean slow drafts will not start until the 19th at the earliest?

We just can't charge anyone for those until after the 18th, but you folks can certainly start drafting those teams beforehand. Look for more details on the draft room and Tom will inform everyone via email about the draft site, etc., soon. We're on it.

Does this mean that I should not spend any more of my time setting up player rankings on the current site? Or will they be transfered over?

Just a heads up again that the current NFBC Registration page will be disabled through Friday, Feb. 18th, but there is a popup message there now that says if you want to secure a spot in any event or contest to contact Tom at [email protected]. That's the only way we can do registrations for the next 6 days, but the new Registration page should be live on Saturday. Thanks for your patience all and plan for all events that are currently listed to go on as planned and plan accordingly. Good luck all.

I'm at [email protected] if you have further questions.

Greg - I'd make this new email addy and the last info a top thread. I don't read everything and would have missed the news.

Thanks,

Jeff

We're good to go and we're hopeful that all signups from the Fanball site will carry over to the new STATS site. If not, we'll find a way to get your registered in the new system. Thanks and good luck.

Greg,

Still not clear on whether we need to re-register or it is being done for us. Also unclear on whether you need payment info again.

Sorry for my confusion.

Thx.

Roger I don't know the answer to either at this point. I should know more tomorrow. Hang tight for now. Sorry.
